Ultima Survey!

Hi,
this is my first post in this very intersting forum. I am building a GTR in Germany. It was delivered in November 2000. I am using a BMW V8 which will be supercharged in the future to reach 550 bhp.
Due to the unfavourable exchange rate of the Pound I only ordered the GTR-specific parts an try to get all the other stuff from local resources.
Some modifications are made to the car, some necessary to legalise it for German roads, others to my preferences.
Some examples: Xenon headlights, Porsche brakes, steering wheel lock, all bodywork will remain removable, completely modified heater with fresh air intake, islolated water pipes (a tip from this forum), modified wiper etc. Of course this slows down the build progress a lot.

Model - GTR
Did I build it? - Well I have done loads (it feels like it anyway) but it is now with the factory. I only got the kit on 10 December!

Colour - its being sprayed blue

Unusual - I guess they are all unusual. I am using a standard Amerspeed 550/535 383ci with getrag. The rest is factory spec.

What Ultima do you have?
- Order placed for a Can-Am chassis, nothing delivered yet.
Who built/building it?
- Hopefully I'll be doing most of it.
How long has it been on the road?
- in my dreams
Any interesting modification?
- Spec is still fluid, but will be running an ASCAR spec LS1, dry sumped motor, Motec ADL dash, copper radiator (more on this one soon)

Currently building a GTR (yellow body on order - should be collecting it next couple of weeks). Building it myself other than having body prefit (unlike j-k who has had to get his mates to help him and couldn't even fix his laptop).
The race is on to have it finished for Le-Mans this year 2003 and bets are currently being taken. Should be fairly standard but engine spec still to be finalised but will be alloy block and dry sump. I was going for supercharger but have been talked out of it. As long as it's quicker than j-k's Canam (I too live in Preston area) and a black GTR last seen being towed through Leyland I'll be happy. Good chance it will be faster as although Canam slightly lighter with the weight saving of the alloy block and the weight disadvantage of j-k driving his car, power to weight ratio should be doubled.

If it was being towed it was either behhind a Jag or a 200sx. Oh and its dead easy to toe (and you wont be towed much if you calibrate your fuel gauge at some point and you fit the factory GKN drive shafts).

- Will be doing it myself and a little help from some mates.
How long has it been on the road?
- Hopefully it will stay on the road once it is there. Expecting a 1.5 year build plan. Smmer here I come...
Any interesting modification?
- Having looked around it does seem that the easiest way is to stick with the factory recommendations and I will pretty much be doing that.
Unless I get the urge to be radical, hey it is an ultima after all!!

Bespoke leather interior.
The metallic paint - it's the only one this colour!
Chromed headlamp enclosures.
6 speed G50.
New powerplant is still under negotiations!!
(4 off, Hiyabusa 1300cc bike engines)

Hi All
This is my first posting, therefore I want to introduce myself (ourselves).
We are 3 guys from the Czech Republic (myself living in Prague), having ordered 2 GTR (yellow and red) and 1 Can-Am (yellow), full spec (450 to 550 HP), right now being built by the factory. Unfortunately we cannot build ourselves due to import restrictions / homologation problems.
We should get the cars end of March .
We have discussed some minor modifications with the factory (eg. seat belts in different colours, front splitters...).
Great to be part of the Ultima family

I only post occasionally here, but it should be more often next month, as I'm shortly to get a GTR chassis and some bits/pieces.
