I sat in a real Ultima ....!!!!

Dear All
I had the luck to find an Ultima owner in my neighberhood in the Netherlands.
he has 3 and today i sat in one wat a lovely car
it is increadably low, looks wide and light
i sat in the car wich is quite difficuld to get in as
you cant get in it on a normal way first both feets in
than the rest
and you sit realy low so the feeling is that you just sit on the street
it feels like a Kart quite impressive
one car had a chevy v8 with 620 BHP this engine cost over 100000 Euro with only litle use
now we try to sell this engine because we will built a
different engine in it somebody interested he told me that the engine can go for less than halve the prise someweere neer the 40000 euro mark
but this was super

I only sat in the car wich was a great experience already as i only saw the cars on the internet
and was the first time for real
the car is so low increadable and so nice
there are no words to explaine other than i know i will build one in the future hope soon rather than later

The real story of this engine i do not know only that it has 622 Hp normal aspirated
its a 6.9 L Chevy
with motec fuelinjection
and with valve covers written BRODIX on them
maybe someone else knows something about this engine
it seems to be quite reliable if i understood corect this engine was driven on races and was rebuild needing only Bearings and Rings
but i already know that these cars are adictive

He does not have a website but will ask him to send
pictures so i can email them to you
but concerning the car balance i had a discussion with Ted about it
and he told me the ballance is good as it is
but why did this guy do that about the safety that is very temting because when you get involved in a collision and the tank get open the fuel can go over the hot exhaust with terrible results
so only from that point it would be fine to mount it in the front

That is a tempting place to mount additional fuel. It is a space that is directly connected to the passenger cell and as a result offers an additional problem of fabricating a firewall.
Anyone have any idea what the mounting flange is for just behind the front wheels?
Also, who owns three Ultimas?!?!?!?!

I believe (though I may be wrong - usually am that Colin Blower went for this fuel tank arrangement in the GT car for more neutral balance (and possibly extra payload). However, I would say that for a road car it probably carries a bit more risk to the occupants for negligable gain, unless you're Schumacher like in your car control.

Brodix is a company that makes excellent aftermarket high-performance aluminum heads for Chevy (and other) engines. They make heads for the street as well as for racing. They have a great reputation.
As for it costing 100,000 Euros, maybe it was built like an all-out racing engine, but to me it still sounds like it was far more expensive than it needs to be. That seems to defeat the purpose of getting a Chevy engine in the first place.
