Doesn't matter how much power you've got - it's how you use it!!!

I'm not interested in straightline speed, too easy, now if you'd care to join me on a track then I'd be happy to 'ave a go

I have two questions about the GTR vs. Canam debate. For those of you who drive a GTR, how strange is the feeling of not being able to see behind you through a mirror inside the car, or turning your neck, instead of only using the outside mirrors? I'd imagine that it might not be so bad on the track but a little limiting on the street, such as when reversing, no?

I'd also like to know how much of a weight difference there can be between the two models since I though that the main (if not only) difference between them was the body. If the weight differential is as great as 100 kg, as said before, what else is different about the two models? TIA

It really depends on how you drive it and what look you prefer. A certain CanAm recently beat all comers at Santa Pod anyway and was not the highest powered car.
As to mirrors, it becomes quite natural after a while and reversing is no problem. The mirrors give you a full view behind in the same way a rear view mirror does, only it is in a different place. When reversing in a tight spot, just open the door and look out behind.
One point to bear in mind is the height of the rear wing as viewed by the mirrors. It can obscure the blue lights on the car behind which can be unfortunate.

Miguel. Have you thought about fitting a rear vision camera? I fitted such a system in my Sports and it works very well both as a reversing aid and as a substitute for the interior mirror. Having said that, my outside mirrors (convex) give a good view of the road behind although the rear wing does get in the way somewhat. If you decide to go for a rear vision camera, I would recommend black and white rather than colour (I've tried both) and don't use a wide angle lens. Also, I have a 5 inch dash mounted monitor which is about as small as you should use. If you're interested, I would be happy to e-mail some pictures of my installation to you.

Thanks for your replies, ultiman and Alan 2. I'm asking for future reference as I have no immediate plans to get an Ultima--as much as I'd like to.
