5th Gear - Last night and Sunday 22nd

Did anyone see the GTR on 5th Gear last night? If not its on again on Sunday afternoon - C5 2pm ish

Yep, I missed it too but I am told he went for a zonda, a mini for town, a Merc SL for cruising, and liked the GTR for track days, but thought a bit too expensive for "just a toy"... Should be repeated this Sunday - 22nd Dec.

I don't remember seeing a GTR on 5th Gear last night.

The Road cars were the Mini One, Honda Jazz and Ford Focus. The tracks cars were the Ariel Atom, Caterham R500 (I think) and the Noble M12GTO. The tourers were BMW M5, Range Rover and Mercedes SL55AMG. The super cars were the Murcielago, Enzo and C12, the first two didn't appear on the show though.

He chose the Mini, Caterham and SL55. He couldn't justify the cost of the C12 so it was a dream car for him.

Personal I would have gone for the M12 but then I'm biased!

The Caterham was the R300,

The Noble was to expensive when compared to the caterham, for a track car.

Definatly no GTR though, would have been a great matchup if there was!!

Are you guys confusing GTR with Noble GTO??? I saw some of the show and didn't see an Ultima.

Anyway, keep on gassing as interesting reading some of the conversations.

What a chump this Cauldwell was! Imagine being brazen enough to swagger yourself as Mr.Billionaire thus and then baulking at the prospect of blowing a trifling £300k on this awesome creation?

If his Bentley was new, at some stage he's stumped up/financed over £225k on a car. So clearly he's not s cheap skate. I just think having his mansion on TV, with the presenters mentioning his plane, helicopter and yacht etc he didn't wish to come across as a flash with the cash smartarse.

Personally I was a little concerned at the selction they gathered. One minute they're saying the car should have no waiting list and then they're wheeling out a SL55AMG?

For the record, IMHO Mr Billionaire should be keeping the bentley Azure and purchasing the following:

E55AMG - longdistance workhorse.
Mini CooperS - Town car
R500 - track car (quicker than the R300)
Cayenne Turbo - Off Roader (XXXX the wait give William L. or Tommy H. a premium, lifes too short).

For what it's worth, my prefs would be thus:

Towncar - snap! - Cooper S
Track - SR3 Radical
Power cruiser - CL600 (new biturbo)
Posh meets - Gotta be the one he already has!
Uber car - How about a Gemballa GTR EVO 750?

I wonder if they would do a GTR750 with 4 wheel drive and PSM? I know William Loughran had a polar silver 993 GTR600 4WD for sale earlier this year?

Track car: R500 (why choose R300 if your that rich?)
Super Saloon: Jaguar S-Type R (it's no RS6 but at least it has a soul and it's British)
Super Car: Aston Martin Vanquish (see above w.r.t. Zonda)
