Track spec GTR tested in EVO.
Discussion
Going back to the original topic.....
The article in Evo is very very good and the car deserves the praise it got....
Looking very closely at the article on page 29 (photo) you can see the AS engine is running -8 hoses, though was a little dissapointed it wasnt running a 525hp power plant!
The characteristics describing the engine are exactly what we experience from ours, and as a result was extremely happy to see it has one mother of a race breed engine on board
Did they mention the engine fire it had though?
How much wieght does the light body save? and I cant remember reading whether the block was ally or not?
Cheers

Vez,
As I'd already posted, regarding the engine 'fire' as you put it. Richard had a problem with the gearchange (experimental setup) and pulled off the circuit for safety in order to try and fix it. He managed to flood then engine after trying to restart and the resulting 'fire' was just unburnt fuel in the exhaust being ignited.
I trust this clears that up?

Yellow???????
Thanks Stig, I didnt think it was serious at all as the only damaged seemed to be a little melted gel
And seems as you seem to be "in the know" how does that 5.7 rev in the EVO car, whats the throttle response like (rise and fall of the revs from idle etc)?
Cheers!

I finally got a chance to read the article in EVO magazine about the Track Spec GTR. The car looks exactly the same as all the other GTRs, except the front wheels are a little bit wider to provice more traction in the front. The car has 440 horsepower with street tires and still lapped many of the other cars tested. The only minus that Evo gave the car was convincing the local police that the Ultima GTR is street legal..LOL, that is pretty funny. Wow, I was impressed. 4.5 out of 5 stars, not bad for a factory spec car!
