I agree with many of the opinions mentioned especially ultimandy. However I would listen more to those that build, own, drive, modify and live with the car than those that don't.

Vez said: To clarify my comments, the build quality is almost second to none with regards to the assembly/kit car market, but as you will agree, if everyone gives praise and doesnt pick up on faults then how does anyone improve on there production and therefore satisfy more of the market/potential market? All feedback is appreciated by any company, if I were to sit back and rest on my laurels without have both negative and positive feedback, my company would be disadvantaged!

Im glad Stig chose to air his vendetor (maybe to strong a word and I appologise) in public as a number of irregular posters have now voiced there opinions on the aforementioned areas and brought more information to light!

Vez,

I certainly don't have a vendetta against you, my comments were made because out of the 5 or so posts you recently made (after non-contribution for a while), they were all pretty much negative - as were the previous ones.

To that ends, let me make two things abundantly clear.

1. This forum is in no way moderated or run by the factory, it's moderated by me in a way that I think is fair to both us as builders/owners of Ultimas and the predominant suppliers for Ultima components.

2. I don't see Ultima through rose tinted specs. and if you read my account of my experiences with the build you'll see that when somethings amiss - I say so!
Additionally, when this is the case I let Ted & Co. know so that they can sort it out, which they have always done. My recent experience with the headlight rivnuts being misaligned is just such a case and Ted has since spoken to his suppliers and informed them (in no uncertain terms, which if you know Ted will understand the proliferation of the word f(*& that they're jig was out.

So, whilst we're all entitled to our own opinions, try to keep a balanced view eh?

My engines have failed only in track-day situations, I have never experienced problems in "normal" road driving even though at times you think you are pushing it.

From my experience, I think the fuel delivery system should be seriously considered, especially, for builders who still have the option of changing the tank fittings before they disappear into the bowels of the side pods!

If your road driving then your probably going to be O.K. but if your competing or doing track-day stuff then-----?????????

As some know our Ultima AS 530 BHP engine has blown up twice in 2500 miles. The first was a camshaft related failure the second a crank failure. The car has never been on a track.

American speed and Ultima have both provided excellent sevice and at least two people have bought kits due to my enthusiasm for the cars. These things do happen but I feel when the shit hit the fan the factory provided a good level of service and ultimtely I am happy with the car and the factory.

I do feel that wheather negative or positive it is important to be able to have a voice on a forum so others can make their own decicions from the information available. Whether the information is constructive or destuctive the person should be able to have an opinion he can share.

If it is not allowed to be public here then where? maybe in the background were more damage can be done? Lets keep it all here (good or bad) so we can all bedate it and put people right when they are wrong.

I have also disagreed with many of Vez posts, but if others have learned from them then they have been constructive, at least the debate was had.

I personnely have imense respect for the Ultima factory, their product is excellent and they have provided me very good after service even after my SVA (and they already had my cash!).
Also after a chat with Ted yesterday I am also impressed with their development attitude, very frank and factual. They don't always go in the direction I want. but hey... I am but one customer.

Lets all have a beer together in Feb at the meet.
And remember the Club slogan.

Its comments like these that helped me decide on going the Ultima route.

P.S. Andy if I end up getting divorced over this car its your fault !

I do understand the term "a balanced view" and this is what Im potraying along with other contributions.

The Ultima in any guise is a fatastic car, a boarderline road legal GT racing car in every sense of those words, its fantastic and I would gleefully spend two years of my life building another!!

I am glad the factory recieves feedback from this site, but I hope the freedom to express ourselves on a very pasionate subject within this forum is in no way compromised by "the powers that be".

The end

Being a public forum, the factory can view the site just as we do - but they have no influence beyond that.

Thanks for your reply.
