Who was the guy at VW with yellow GTR 4 sale??
Discussion
Went to VW today, nice display of cars, Ultimas of course, Porkers, Loads of TVR`s of all years, Ferarris, Morgan, VX220`s, Subaru`s and Mitzis, but I arrived with my mate Jeff in his Diablo at around 12.15pm, had a look around and saw the yellow GTR for sale, registered last year.
Tried to attract your attention, but you were very involved in another chap who you were showing the car to in and out.
How much do you want for it? I heard you saying something about the gearbox and it was on its way, don`t know if you meant a new one was on its way or the box was on its way out.
You told me when I interrupted your conversation it was a Chevy 6litre, which is fine, but aren`t they all, I need to know the full spec, as might be interested in buying a completed car, rather than building one myself.
Please respond with all info as much as you can supply.

Clive,
Why are you building another car, presumably Ultima, when yours has only done 2500 miles?
Looked on your link, seems a shame to have to sell yours after spending so much time on it, to then spend more time building another.
What are your reasons??
Also Guy, Blue Satin, I know the fun in is in the building, but it did look a very good example and was interested, but at £65,000 out of my league, so looks like I `ll build me own!!

I think you'll find that Clive like myself is getting itchy fingers and the need to tinker is getting strong..... hence the new spoiler on his car! and the one I will soon have on mine.
The cure for this is a new project, which requires the sale of the current car.
Fortunatelly I will still have my cossie to play with.... and Clive has his new 405 diesel

Bubbles, l took a look at the Lambo, most impressive and proved so as the crowds abandoned the TVRs and headed for a Lambo-fest. l was surprised by the thin tubing that appeared to make up part of the chassis or is this just minor framework? Most surprising was the welded exhaust manifolds. ls this correct for the car?
Take a look at the Ultimas if you havn't already as the detailing and parts quality is impressive.
By the way did l speak to you among the many others yesterday? and finally thanks for the directions without which l would have been even more lost than l was!!

Digressing a bit from the original subject but i thought the Lambo a bit disappointing? having looked at the build quality on the Ultimas i found the Lambo interior sparse (not in a nice racey way) and flimsy (dodgy hinges and bits of upholstery) and those exhausts looked like strangled chickens or worse Ford Probe efforts!
Dont get me wrong stunning engine and performance but after the Countach this seemed a little subdued?
Or maybe im just bitter becasue there is no way i can afford one!

Pulled a 31 Hour Stint yesterday, as drove down there and back after finishing nights shift. Blood good fun though, even better as M40 / M25 was dry in places. I Don't think the 911T or the Noble saw me coming. Summers only just around the corner folks. Time to buy your new toy, and blow away those cold winter blues.....
Gtr Clive, yep checked my e-mails, sorry mate, but you were very involved with a chap, but unfortunately, yours is out of my price range, so thanks for coming back, it looked lovely, great spec from what I could see, shame you never popped the bonnet, would have loved to see under there.
I came along with Jeff in his Diablo, can only agree, very basic inside and the binnacle over the dials is enormous. His is a 93 model, but he picked it up for £25,000 as rear axle f£$kd, told would cost £20000 to put right, but he did all the work himself and did it all for £7000, so he`s got a £65,000 motor for £32,000. Only car he would flog it for is an Ultima, so that is high praise for you guys.
Great car in a straight line, but so bloody heavy with that V12 tractor engine behind, doesn`t go round the corners at allwell, typical large Italian job.
The whole car is built round the engine as you can imagine and suspension underneath is not to be desired, but looks great on the road though, very harsh and bumpy. He has a sports exhaust on it with straight through pipes, so anything above 3000 revs, you can forget about talking, but just sat there and listened like a naughty schoolboy.
Shame I couldn`t have interrupted you guys, as wanted to put names to faces, but there will be other times I`m sure.
Yep think I met one of you when Guy, alias Blue Satin came over to see the Diablo, I had the green Lotus jacket on and carrying a digicam bag.
Look forward to talking Ultimas e.t.c. at next meet.

GTRCLIVE said: Any way lets get back on subject. Ultimas look so much better in Yellow, not Red or a funny Metalic Brown. Oh yes nor That Stig Blue either.
Yellow GTR's are King.....
hmmm "Utterly Butterly" springs to mind
You can understand a meaningfull deep blue, or Ferrari Red, or even a sophisticated metallic, but BANANA YELLOW...says it all...
Does the words butter, lard and diet mean anything to you??
