Guys I need some help.

I haven't turned environmentaly conscious overnight, I say free the horses. However, I have just moved country and to import my car I need to have a catalytic converter.

I run a 6.3 ltr chevy, standard Ultima everything in a GTR. Has anyone fitted a catalist, or have any bright ideas to help me out.

Thanks

Are you just being asked to fit a cat or meet a particular emissions level?

I've seen several Cat installations on Ultima's with LS1 engines. They looked like like plumbing nightmares with tubes wrapped around the chassis. A common performance cat installation in the US is to install cats without mufflers. The cat acts like a muffler and cleans the exhaust as long as your not required to do a DB level test. If your running std Ultima headers there's not much room to add a cat, I'd take the mufflers off add cats and remove after inspection.

As far as I've been told I just need to have a catalytic converter, need to find out about any emission requirements though.

That sounds like a plan, any ideas where I could get hold of a cat?

Hi srreck,

I spoke to you a few months ago, but have lost your phone number and e-mail, I have the car in Spain. Just trying to get it imported on spanish registration now. Try to e-mail me if you can so we can get into contact.
Looking forward to have a trackday together in spain.

Hi Javier,

I seem to have the same problem, can't reach your e-mail through pistonheads. I'm getting the car imported as we speak. The car is already in Spain, since wednesday. I've already broken down after 50 km, nothing serious though, and should be running again on monday. I've been told that for the ITV you need to have a cat, are there anyother things that you found you need for the ITV (couldn't find a cat on the foto's on your website by the way).

We are looking at the possibilities of track-hire at Cartagena or Valencia. Cartagena is a lot cheaper apparently, but I'll let you know the details.

Speak to you soon, Jeroen

Hi Jeroen:
I´m happy to know that you are finally here and then I´m not alone. Because I´m not an expert with the forum´s operation, email me to jamarino@terra.es and I can give you more details about the ITV and my Phone.
Cheers,
Javier
