Hey everyone! The newest EVO magazine talks about the Farboud GTS(mid-engined Ferrari beater supercar). Did you guys know the that Farboud used the Ultima chassis to get himself started quickly? Why is it that every specialty low production sports car firm looks to Ultima for help? (Mclaren Included)

That was mentioned in other mags when Farboud showed their latest car, the GTS, at Autosport show 2003. But at Autosport 02 they had a GT1 modelled on a Porsche GT1. But it ran into problems, Circuit Driver Feb 03 (Page 29 shows a partial chassis photo and Ultima chassis features can be discerned) said one was that Porsche held the copyright for the design(!!) even though Lola designed and built the car and also claiming SVA would cause a problem. So they started from scratch and designed the GTS.

The Farboud has a shed load of development to be done before it can touch the Ultima.

Rich Asian boy squandering family's fortune if you ask me.

Those slashed flanks are 'orrible too.

These guys are so serious that their website farboud.com has not been updated even though they have featured at the Autosport show 2003 and in various mags!!!

I would think that would hurt their pre-release sales. Imagine somebody excited, ready to buy with their check books out, and they can't even access the web site. What a disappointment!!

I'd think that, if you had your cheque book out ready to buy a £150k car, you'd be giving them a call and arranging to go and look at the car in person. The website is for people who want to look and drool, not people who actually want to buy the thing.

It's too easy to assume that the whole world lives on the Internet, just because you do.

Personally, I think it's going to be a fabulous car. I love the look of it, and the spec is pretty impressive too.

My point was it's even showing the wrong car (the original GT1) and their phone number is not for Farboud Cars but their parent medical company. Someone once said "Success is in the detail"

Well, even though I am on the internet everyday..I wouldn't say I live on it. I do have a small interest in the Farboud, only because I like to see underdog startup companies shock the world kind of like the Pagani Zonda did. I also have an interest in small car companies like these because it takes HUGE STEEL BRASS balls to start your own car company. You are an unknown guppy in a large pond. My brother and I have dreamed of starting our own car business, but that would probably take much more time, money, and resources then we actually have. It would be interesting to see them put up a working web site instead of the one page they have of the old concept GT.
