My car hit the road for the very first time today and despite being pretty conservative with the right foot, I can confirm that it's all I thought it would be.

It doesn't so much 'drive' down a road as 'consume' it

The power delivery is linear and can only be described as phenominal. I had to remind myself I was only using 1/3 throttle!!! It's a tired cliché to say that it drives 'like a go-kart' but it does - I've never driven anything so in-tune with every ripple of tarmac. 1mm of steering input generates the precise response from the direction of the car. And the ride, well, it's obviously set up soft (and conservative) for road use but it SO compliant. It purrs through town and lets rip on the twisties. Fantastic balance. Oh, and for those of you who thought the blower was gonna be intrusive - you can't even hear it! Having been in normally aspirated GTRs it's no louder. In fact, it seemed a bit quieter

Anyway, here's my new beasty. Hels insisted that I give it a name and despite Domsters suggestion of 'Blue Thunder' (crap 80's helicopter), we've decided the Thor is more appropriate (my nick is Stig after all!). Because when you put the hammer down, all hell breaks loose

For all you who think that I'm 'showing off' - well stuff you, I'm damn proud of this car and all the effort, time and money I've scraped together to build it. So up yours!

For those (the majority I'm pleased to say) who have followed my progress and enjoyed the experience and emailed me regularly with words of encouragement - thank you! I hope to continue the story and see how the best can be made even better.

Could I have asked for a better weekend? I think not!

Congrats Chris.
Car looks great now that it's finished, or is it? I'm sure that you'll find some things to do on it in the near future just to keep your hands busy.
I hope in less than a few months I'll see what the CanAm feels like.
Great car, great buildsite, enjoy the new "toy".
Regards
Jack

Beautiful, just beautiful, good to see something like that built from passion and hard work. So, how much attention does it attract?

Building a car is always a great achievement, however detailing the build via your website to entice those "not sures" to get with the program deserves an additional round of applause.

Looking forward to seeing Thor tomorrow.

Stig, you have realized a dream. And always remember that a dream is a goal with a plan. The time and effort that you have expended to entertain and keep us informed is truly admirable. There are alot of people in this world that you have put a smile on their face, and enthusiasm in their hearts. I raise my glass to you my friend. Good Job!

Congratulations CJ! What a great car you've built. Thanks so much for the hours of documenting your build. You've got every right to be proud of your work and are highly deserving of blowing your own horn. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you and "the Thor" in person someday.....but now I've got to come up with a name for my GTR....besides "the unfinished"! Enjoy your weekend!

I think we need some video evidence of this

Congrats, It must be soooo nice to finally have the car on the road!

Regarding you car being silent... Can it be that your air filter starves the engine?

We dynotested a small block with around 550 hp and when we changed from the filter you have to the double hight filter we gained 100HP !!!
