Well done buddy. Good to see that all that hard work hasn't been wasted.

What did Hels think of it when she drove it? After all, she's a more experienced racer than you, so she should be able to do the car a bit more justice than you

Looking forward to seeing it soon.

Regarding you car being silent... Can it be that your air filter starves the engine?

We dynotested a small block with around 550 hp and when we changed from the filter you have to the double hight filter we gained 100HP !!!

Like this you mean

The filter surface area is now larger than the double height filter!

Thanks Dom.

Soz we couldn't make it on Sunday. Had some 'teething' troubles and we thought it best to stay home and sort them out first.

100 bhp gain, sounds good to me Mines 6 1/2" tall with the top side filter like Stig's.

PS when you get the Vid's sorted I hope we can hear that blower sound !!!!!

Stig

Great to see the car today and the blast through Berks, Bucks and Oxon with a few numpties being Ultimad. For those who have only seen the pics I can tell you that the quality of the work is exceptional- well done stig. Perhaps this will make domster get his started sooner.

Thats it for nice comments- abuse starts again next week!

Are you feeling unwell mate

Was a good laugh. The sight of TWO Ultima's being filled up on either side of the Optimax pump caused a bit of a stir. Not to mention the double-takes as we trundled through Henley

Btw. Gave it a bit of 'large' up the Fairmile and the 'charger really got going. The noise is phenominal! It takes on a real edge, not a whine at all, more like a Pagani or Ferrari howl than the growl of the Chevy.

Christ knows what full throttle is gonna be like

Ah, but I like my engines to last more than 2k miles

I was especially impressed the way you gave it a bootfull when the engine was stone cold. I swear I saw shrapnell from your piston rings flying out the exhausts - not to mention the James Bondesque smoke cloud that your motor guffed out

Has no-one ever told you to bring the motor up to temp. before giving it some?

In the UK, a specialist policy with restricted mileage (say 5k) would run in at about 750 I reckon. Obviously location/security/driving experience (they will probably ask what other high performance cars you've had) will all play a part too.
