I saw a beautiful Ultima can am today at a kit car show in kent. It had a Jaguar V8 mated to a porche G50 gearbox, does anyone make this adaptor or was it custom made?
Thanks

Are you sure it was a Can-Am and not a Spider?

Was it silver, if so, as paul said it's probably a spyder that we know who had a XKR engine from the big jag installed.

As you correctly state its a work of art...but if you wanted to replicate it you would need to speak to the owner as I delieve it is a one off.

pants, I happened to drive past that show and went it to see if I could spot an Ultima. Didn't see this one, or indeed any others. Where were they hiding? Interesting to have seen the show; quite an eye-opener. Was that a typical kit car show, if there is such a thing?

all wrong, well nearly! it is a can-am, built by David Hart who is an engineer but not from Jaguar, he spent three and a half years building the car to a very high standard, a real labour of love. Its powered by the 350bhp XK8 engine. From what I could see there wasn't a standard bit in the car. NB I was at the show, apart from David Harts car there was another GTR, silver, but he didn't hang around. And Matt you were right the engine came out of David Seamans car (a soccer player so I've been led to believe!)

So what happened to the silver Spyder with the Jag engine which we saw on a trailer at the Grasshopper last year? ls this too much of a coincidence?

Almost certainly David Harts as he only lives 20 miles south and has a trailer in his back garden just for the Ultima. I popped over to see it just before SVA and it is beautifully put together.
