Fuel Levels are handled by the Stack dash so no need for standalone fuel gauge of any kind.

I calibrated mine 5 Litres at a time so it should be reasonably accurate.

It displays number of litres remaining so should be interesting to see how quickly those numbers tumble when pushing on smile

How are you handling the horn wires from your Momo (center of wheel) mounted button?

Hi All,

there have been some misconceptions and plain wrong information on this thread about Aim dashes. I am in a position to clarify this so here goes.

The display - the images shown on this thread on here are the standard brochure / web images - and I agree, it is far too busy. This is the maximum you can have on the display at one time. If it is too much simply remove the offending channels. The lower row can have up to 4 different channels which can be scrolled through by the view button, or this button can be wired remotely.

SVA - this one comes up often. I know of MXL and Mychron 3 dashes that have been fitted and passed SVAs. What they look for varies widely but the normal questions we get are :

speedo - yes and the display shows kph / mph
odometer - yes. This can only be reset by the factory. The procedure for this is to send it to the dealer you bought it from, and they will send it to the factory as a repair. I have seen a couple that have had miles or K's on from new and they had to go back.
radius on the corners of the dash - no sharp edges

There is an icon version available that bas 3 red, one blue, one orange and on green leds as alarm lights. Instead of AL4, AL5, AL6 it has an picture icon, indicators, high beam, fuel.

GPS - plugs straight in to the back. The MXL has always been designed to take the GPS module. There is beta software being tested now to allow the GPS to be used as a lap beacon. Expect this early in the new year.

Information - the definitive source for Aim information is the Italian web site www.aim-sportline.com This has the latest software, and pdf files for techncial information.

Dealers - there are number of web sites purporting to be Aim dealers. Some thing about you get what you pay for applies here. If you have a problem, require technical information these " dealers " may or may not want to help you.

If you buy from a cowboy and then go to the official importer he won't want to know you either - has never heard of you and has not sold you the dash. So be very careful who you buy from, the " good " bargain may not be what it first appears.

I am biased but I think the Pista is easily the best value for money out there.

There is no product information available because to all practical purposes it is the same as the standard unit, the only changes being the colour of the right leds and the icons printed on it

Just for interest, been doing some more on my dashboard layout...

Can anyone tell be the gap between the dash and the Aircon unit? I make it about 20mm, but it is difficult to measure... Been toying with the idea of using something like Russ's finger holes as demister vents at the front of the windscreen... My old Cerbera had a similar layout and it seemed to work well. If you run a piece of conduit under the dash, you could fix holes straight through and connect to through to the 2 main dash vents...

Just how effective are the standard demister vents?

Cheers, Mart

Martin, is the step in the pod where it clears the defrost vent standard for the pod or something you modified?

Thanks,

Randy

I just cut out and moulded a scallop using a piece of cardboard. It's then fibreglassed in from the rear. Not sure I completely like it yet, but it does work and will probably look OK when trimmed properly....

San Diego GTR,

Apologies for the delay in my reply, have been away for the festive season.

The horn runs a remote system very similar to the one that Stig used on his GTR so no wires required.

It's just a simple send unit connected to the horn button with the receiver connected to the horn itself.

Audi TT. Quite a few people have used them. They are a bit blingy for some, but they look nice, are well made and fit... They suit my ali/carbon interior quite well so they are staying! :-)

Cheers, Mart

Excellent detective work!!!!

The site says they also come with blue display rather than red.

Have you found any photos of one with blue lights?

If you're talking about the red lights, they are for the canopy closure tell tales from the factory.
If you're talking about the warning tell tale strip that is from a company called Bright6.
If you're talking about the silver switches they are called Savage and come in a wide range.

Damn... I thought they were the 15" sub-poofter warning lights.
