Hi Rob,
You been out her this week?
(Grossly off topic sorry but..)You been out her this week?
Nope, just got back from France today...off to a Stags Do in Liverpool tomorrow and thinking about taking the GTR up. Just worried about leaving it outside Holiday Inn for the night e.g. drunks falling all over it (and that's just me and Stags do, let alone all the other freaks out on a Saturday night).
Hmmm...... quite a serious weakness for nice motors seems to exist around that neck of the woods, even though half their punters are fish!
Not so long back a colleague got a new M3........ after only a few days it vanished from the staff airport-car park, exactly the same time the security barriers and CCTV failed!
Might be best just to enjoy the local hospitality for the night.

Guys
I actually have a paddle shift system fitted to my GTR (the car is not yet road legal but will hopefully be SVA'd before too long).
The system is mated to a Hewland NLT transaxle and uses an airshift system operated by paddles on the steering wheel. These is no gear stick at all but the system works really well.
It was developed and fitted by Mark Frisby at Rapid GB in Northampton.
Thanks

How much is a Hewland NLT,I thought they were about 18k so should work well.I actually have a paddle shift system fitted to my GTR (the car is not yet road legal but will hopefully be SVA'd before too long).

may be a nessesary additon if you were going to convert a G50 to padel shift.

The other problem )(apart from price) with the Hewland boxes (generalisation) is that they are designed as a race transmission and expect to be rebuilt at the very least seasonally!
Re: the racelogic item, a switch on the clutch pedal is not really flat shift. Propoer flat shift means the clutch is only ever used for selecting 1st from neutral when moving off, and neutral from 1st when stopping.
Flat shift on a non sequential box is completely pointless.

will the PDK box fit in an Ultima?
Started this thread some time ago:will the PDK box fit in an Ultima?

New Boxster Phase II has PDK box designed to run upside down like in an Ult. Could it be used if it can handle the torque? Ideas anyone?
As a follow up to Jon's Swedish monster article which many are talking about, I noticed he mentioned using a Holinger sequential box in the car for normal road driving. Anybody else thinking of this type of installation?
Found a link to the manufacturer http://www.holinger.com.au/product_page.php?comman...

i think i remember reading something in the local paper about Holinger and Motec getting contracts to supply Porsche components in some of the limited run race cars for that one make series that porsche run all over the place. its probably the same box. also its a straight cut dog box.
edited to add that i am in Melbourne - where both of these companies head offices are
