If you are worried about the resale value of an Ultima, that you have built, I would suggest you are building for the wrong reason.
It’s not my primary concern at all, but has to be a consideration with such a commitment along with knowing up-front how much it will take to see it through to completion.

I don’t think that I could write off tens of thousands as a hobby. I’m sure that I could find something more exciting than freezing my nuts off in the garage for two years!

Some news stories about the launch of the Evo talk of £38k in kit form, which I assume does not include the engine or many of the optional parts listed by the OP. I’ll contact the factory. It’s a basic question.

You possibly could get it to mid 40s but it would be v basic, no wing, cheapest wheels, non ap brakes Etc I guess, not an LS for sure.

Perhaps the factory could quote exactly what you can build for that price assuming all parts purchased from them.

I've been in touch with the factory and have received the price and options lists. It's a lot simpler than the list posted by the OP as many things now appear to be standard for the Evolution such as the AP brakes with fewer options. I think this is a good idea in terms of quality and usability.

Bottom line is that it adds up to £49K without the engine or transaxle, so around £59K with the LS3 376/480 480hp crate engine and 6-speed gearbox.

Does that £10k for the engine and box include exhaust, run kit (ecu, engine loom etc) ac, transaxle adaptor, clutch etc etc?

£10K for the crate engine, ECU kit, accessory drive system & transaxle. The rest is included in the parts list.

For those of us on the other side of the pond could someone post the cost of VAT and shipping on a LS7 crate motor to England? Lee

You need to ask how complete the engine is? Is it plug and play? Has it got ultima friendly front end anciliaries or no front end etc? Is vat included in the price?

He said accessory drive kit included.

But effectively it’s 60k for a no frills ls3 engined car.

Are you able to post the quote, it would be good to have an updated list.

That's $14,535 in U.S. currency without VAT. That price is not unreasonably above the $12,000 you could bargain for here stateside. The controller for the LS7 is $1283.00 from Jegs. Add the Vintage air A.C. bracket and a alternator bracket and your in

I'm building a bells and whistles EVO at the moment - the parts are (will be) about £50k.

The relatively high price for the parts is ticking Ultima carbon everything (wing, splitter, mirror caps, brake ducts, binnacle cover etc) , Ultima led everything, ap brakes, braid 19" wheels, rose jointed suspension, fancy Ultima steering wheel complete with remote buttons, Ultima LCD dash, fancy central gear lever etc.

Just need to add American speed engine and Porsche gearbox of your choice

.. and 250-300hrs labour biggrin

For comparison purposes a Ariel Atom 3.5R which is mere 350bhp from 2litre supercharged engine with no comparable bodywork comes up to £70k+ with some minor ticking of the options boxes.

Vintage air part # 141811 bracket with 04709VMA compressor. My first GTR has this set up, My new GTR has a Mezirine water pump and a Dailey dry sump system beautiful stuff, but it required a custom built pulley system. We managed to put the alternator water pump tensioner and A.C. on one 6 rib belt, pretty slick setup. Lee

I wouldn't say it was no frills. The standard parts list includes the central, short-shift gearlinkage, LED lighting, steering wheel switches and the AP brakes. The options list is quite limited; big ticket items include aircon, rear wing and forged wheels. The standard Evo with a 480hp LS3 (which seems to be their base model) is a relative bargain at £60K but still a big commitment.

Ultima have some suggestions for taking some cost out, by omitting all of the above standard items and using a basic, carbed SB engine. It would probably work out somewhere in the mid 40s. It would be spoiling the ship IMHO though.

You no longer have to buy a tax disc holder, so it's even cheaper!

hi all I saw this thread and have read it with great interest as I am halfway through my build of an Evo GTR. Its not cheap by any means.

80K is about right however the engine quotes I've seen appear to be a bit of as AS LS7 720hp is 32k$ plus export and VAT costs. So it think if you are looking at going high end on the power you have to revise the budget by lots.

Also with all the carbon options that can be added pushes up the cost so I would say you are getting close to the 100k mark by the time you are finished but all said it does depend on your options and finishing lists.

Keep it simple but use quality products, especially the fixings!!
