Ultima Chassis No. 001
Discussion
Prototype Ultima Chassis #001 (1985) is up for sale. The car is ready to use on the track for either race or track days and has a 5.3 litre Chevy fitted producing approx 300 BHP. It is also road legal and just needs tax and MOT if you want to use it on the road.
There is 2 spare noses, 3 spare rear decks and a spare pair of doors, (i.e. a spare lightweight body) and a spare set of rims with road tyres fitted, (slicks are currently on the car).
Anyone interested in a ready-to-go racer for £18,000?
email me.

It's PDQ. I've seen Global Lights and Radicals struggle to get past it on the short straights, and that was on it's debut run! Considering the size and weight difference between the Ultima and a bike engined racer it was a pretty impressive showing!
Hopefully the car will be sold within the next couple of weeks, the owner is just trying to sort out export documents. Sadly it seems as though it will be leaving the UK.

Rover lump eh JAMES, so what does your racer tip the scales at?
must be pretty light compared to a chevy powered example!
With a full fuel tank (100 litres) all ready to go, it weighs 950 Kg. I would like to get it lighter, with some lightweight bodywork. Somewhere around 900 should be possible.
That's the beauty of the Rover lump. It may not produce as much power as the Chevy, but it's all ally, and very compact, so it's nice and light.

Excellent!
It sounded like a goer with loads of bits!
Are you going to fit a V8 or stay with the renualt V6?
I would love to see it when its done, and maybe some pics of 'Work In Progress'

I've seen one of the early Ultimas (Noble days) for sale in bits (but most of them) for 2.5k, spoke to the seller who bought it in bits but never got round to finishing it.
It sounded like an excellent project for the experienced builder, SVA may have been a challenge though.
Where can I find out about more kits/part-builds?? Any Ideas?
