Everyone form an orderly queue now please, no pushing at the back!!

Depemding on what you do, it is not necessarily that hard to getba job here .... If you are here for a few days more, have a look on Monster.com.sg and get yourself a face to face with a few of the correct industry head hunters.

I guess most of these rich kids fezzas and lambos are funded by daddy? Funding $1m of car in your twenties takes some doing .... I am sure they are not all heads of hedge funds...(?)
Some of it is 2nd / 3rd generation money, some of it is money laundering, and some of it is just raw wealth ....
Or get a decent job, live at home until you're 35 and have a Fezza parked in your HDB...

This Kiasu thing is doing my nut in - don't get the obsession with being first all the time on the MRT when they are just off to work for a white boss at a european/US company - fricking losers.

(Sorry, have a lot of local hate at the moment)

Off subject a lttle i know but Bing o, I had never heard of Kiasu before you just mentioned it so decided to look it up on Google....hahaha, its an Asian thing not just Singapore, young Vietnamese suffer from it very badly as do Indonesians, they all want to fill their plates at the buffet, even though there is enough food to go around two or three times. They want to get into the lift before you have got out, FFS that does my head in at times, my driver in Indonesia cannot be over-taken on the highway many a time Ive had to tell him to slow down as he must race the guy who has just gone past him, no matter what type of car it was, he must always be at the front of a traffic queue. Yesterday i had a right go at him for doing nearly a ton (MPH) up the hard shoulder, undertaking trucks and the like as the other outside lanes were chocker.

Same applies for MRT.. tempted to shove people back onto the platform when they trample you when you are getting out.

Tempted? I'm an 80kg Angry Ang Moh who hates his job - I AM coming out of the lift/MRT carriage, and they ARE going backwards rapidly!

Hong Kong is much the same, I spend a lot of time there and took a couple of years to lose my gemtlemanly ways and let people through, now I walk in a straight line and don't move for anyone over there, luckily I am 2 foot taller than most Chinese so its not so bad.

Why is it, Asians in a hurry or just walking towards you, see you, bump into you then apologise, just use common sense FFS, Dum ass MoFus'

As for Singapore, I here you have to pay $US70k just for a permit to own a half decent car there

there seems to be a lot of pent up angst here ....

I find the simple solution is to not use public transport, it is the one thing that does seem to create an "angry Ang Moh" faster than anything else.

Last time i used the MRT there was only a red and a green line .... although there was talk of a purple one opening soon ......

Ohh and yes, it is now $SG92k for the entitlement certificate for a car .... (plus 130% import duty) - but it is well worth the money to prevent "angry Ang Moh syndrome"

hehe

How's the 'rocco going Bing-o?

to a true believer it is the 3 K's that you must live your life by -

Kiasu - Afraid to loose
Kiasi - Afraid to die
Kia Cheng Hu - Afraid of the government

Im sure its pretty safe to say that no one really enjoys any of the three, however they`re there and you just have to put up with them or work your life around them, making adjustments along the way. Having said that, to actually live your life by them must be bloody awful, living in fear 27/7...

Really makes you wonder why they even have a soccer team here in that case.

We only need Bing o to come on here and tell us the same then we can analyse it to find out what the common denominator is; Singapore, Gheyers, Alcoholics, Sailors (hello).......etc

Talking of kiasu, I had a classic yesterday in the main HV car park. It is always busy at lunch time and cars circulate waiting for a space. By luck a guy comes out of the shopping centre and his car is near where I happen to be. I pull over and indicate left as he gets in his car and pulls out. As I inch forward slowly this big black Mazza (Cambiowhatsit) overtakes me and pulls straight into the space. Nuts ! I then park my car in front of his and go to lunch.
