That is annoying.
What about buying from Currys? £399 there.
The 705 is a step back in pic quality, edge lit LED and not as good.
I was hoping you'd pop back up for some advice What about buying from Currys? £399 there.

Think Curry's is £419 and is not the "B" version, unless it has changed again. The Pixmania version came with a French plug and adaptor, which isn't the end of the world, but would annoy my OCD a bit. I was more concerned about various functions not working correctly (1080p) which is a pity as it is sat in Northampton having come via Germany as we speak....
Various scare stories on forums about TV's deliver via pixmania from Europe with limited functionality.. If I could be convinced it would work as it should then I would take a gamble being cheeeeeeeeeep and here.......

Ouch! I'm waiting delivery now... perhaps I should refuse.
I know, was just thinking whether you'd appreciate a PM to advise you.Gizlaroc seems to know the score so I am awaiting whether he thinks it is a significant prob or not.
I will be running ours through a defunct sky dish I think, recently sacked Sky off due to ridiculous prices...
Just contacted customer services via contact form:
I understand the TV ordered may not conform to UK standards and in particular is not compatible with UK DVB 2 so unable to view some HD content and smart tv features may not work.
If this is the case, regret I must cancel the order. Please advise ASAP.
Regards,
you did well,
I ordered mine a week previously to you and it was due to be delivered the day after tomoz
If you have any info from Pixmania tomorrow that would be of use to me then I'd appreciate it if you could post it one here.
If it can be fed in a different method to alleviate the standard definition problems then that would be reassuring.

It is the B model.
The earlier version was a KDL-40W650A, I think there were KDL-40W650B and KDL-W40605B as well, all will be the B Model now. The stand is different, all the advertising has world cup 2014 images on screen etc.
LordGrover, pleased you like it, I reckon it is one of the TV bargains of the last 10 years or so.
It is a very good set full stop, for £400 it is a steal.

I phoned them and requested cancellation. I was told to reject delivery and once confirmed returned they will issue full refund. I emailed confirmation of the conversation too.
not expecting any issues as they will not have any proof of delivery, and it's via credit card so they can fight it out if it goes tits up. Heh.
Btw, the box says 605 B.
