Quick question. Can you use the Sky Q touch remote to operate the Sky Q mini boxes? I want to hide the box away but I guess the std remove needs line of sight to work whereas the touch remote uses bluetooth?
TIA Shep.
Yes but you'll need to pair it. A touch remote can only be paired to one box at a time. They're discounted on sky.com at the moment.TIA Shep.

Also, anybody done anything useful with their old Sky HD box?
Gumtree £30 to£40. If you cannot be bothered then they have a hard drive in them that you could use elsewhere. Also, anybody done anything useful with their old Sky HD box?
I pulled out the 2TB drive and looked at the value of that on ebay - £65
So there's a business idea.
1.) Buy Sky boxes
2.) Take out hard drives
3.) sell hard drives
4.) Profit!

I'm on a communal system, and I haven't got one of those jobbies fitted
Your communal system may have been upgraded to accept Q boxes. Some will be, others wont it depends lots of factors between sky and landlords. I hate sky q, was ok at first, but have to reset it almost every morning due to sat signal issues.
OK, so the hard buttons have stopped working on my touch remote.
The touch part works but I can't press any of the buttons to actually make anything happen, just move around the menu.
Of course this means I can't re-pair it.
Tried new batteries, left batteries out. Guessing it's dead unless anyone here has any help before I go down the Sky support rabbithole.

Oddly I have a communal system that has been upgraded for sky q and also has two feeds, but when the engineer came to upgrade my hd box for a q box fitted one of those!

In a communal dish scenario the sky Q box operates in DSCR mode (digital single cable router) this allows the Q box to retain its full functionality with only one feed. Some guys installing them for third party independents don't actually understand how DSCR works so when they upgrade the customer from sky+HD they just move the two SAT feeds over after installing the new multi switch and it works fine as one feed is DSCR. Doesn't actually need the other one though and that muddies the watersI hate sky q, was ok at first, but have to reset it almost every morning due to sat signal issues.

If anyone else is having the same loss of signal issues each morning that I was, I managed to fix it by turning off eco mode in the settings!

That's the price of Sky Q Multiscreen for the mini(s). Thing is it covers all Mini boxes so even if you have 4 it's still only £12. The subscription pricing is the same.
It's the price of sky q in total over normal sky. What do people think about the fact sky might increase this price on the annual price rise this Sept?

More likely to see changes to the structure of the Sports pack and possibly the introduction of the loyalty scheme mentioned in their last financial statement .
September would be a poor choice of time to increase the price too - that's when the early adopters of Q will be up for contract renewal...
