Ah, mis understood. To make it worse, I know of the panels you mention.
However, Blue Planet II coming to 4K Bluray......
Damnit, cannot find the news article.
Think it was Whathifi? that did a small article on its release from the mastering studio handling the transfer to disc. However, Blue Planet II coming to 4K Bluray......

Going to be a demo favourite I expect - broadcast 1080i looked great , 4K HDR should be spectacular.
ETA found it:

I'm in exactly the same situation as the OP (was?).
51" Samsung plasma currently and I'd like a 65" screen. My head says wait for OLED prices to drop and don't compromise, but every time I see a deal on a 65" LED TV I'm sorely tempted.
I'm wondering how long it'll take for 65" OLEDs to drop below the £2k mark (the most I could ever justify spending on a TV). Hopefully all the new competition will make prices more competitive, but aren't the Sony and Panasonic models just using LG panels anyway? Not to mention more 'premium' brands.

The new '7 series (B7,C6,G7,W7 etc) OLED TV's come out soon, so prices on last years '6 series may come down a bit more, though they won't suddenly be half price. I'd expect 55 inch B6 to come down to £1,800 or so like the EF950V did about this time last year. This is also true for samsung, their new 2017 'QLED' TV's will be arriving soon, so again last years 'SUHD' TV's will probably get cheaper.
Yes, all consumer OLED TV's use LG panels. This is no different to LCD's, no one makes their own panels, even Samsung use LG LCD panels (I think).

To be fair the 55B6 was £1800 around Christmas time, due to a good deal I paid £1600 for mine.
I'm not sure how much B6 stock will be left over, as I assume LG will just stop producing them, but I think some manufacturers will be using 2016 OLED panels in their 2017 models. So there might be the possibility of lower end OLEDs helping bring the price down.

Yeh I'll be in the market for a 55B6 when our extension is finished in about 6-8 weeks, I was watching the prices drop to ~£1700 after Christmas so had a casual look the other day expecting them to be around £1600 or lower only to find they're back up at £2k! Hopefully they'll drop again in the Easter sales by which time I should be ready to buy

I've never missed heroin but I imagine I'd not feel the same after having some.
O...K. Although I did demo the LG OLED against the Sony. Upscaling and HDR were far more impressive on the Sony, so I bought that.
I couldn't quite justify the extra £500+ on the LG (I paid £1250 for the Sony). The LG is a fine screen though and I think I'd have been happy with either ultimately.
