I was in the process of cobbling together a couple of spare satellites and a centre to stand in for my Monitor Audios when I saw and add for an ex-demo Denon centre for only £30.
Took delivery earlier and it was as a worryingly light package.
Opened it up and genuinely wondered if the vendor had snaffled the drivers.
Cabled it up and it did actually make a noise. A horribly tinny one.
£199 or Monitor Audio Radius now on order.......
(when I do the house up think I'll sneak in a MA Bronze but the Radius will do for now).

Try a demo of the Bronze before you buy. IMO I think you'll be disappointed and would be better off skipping the Bronze entirely and go with R90s or Silver.

I started off with something along the lines of the second package, 4 x R90s, a R180 centre (MA don't make this any more, it's been replaced by the R200), and a BK Elec Gemini II.
I bought the BK sub based on the number of people on AVForums who rave about them, and agree that they are excellent quality and great value for money. That said, the R90HT1 package is well priced (it didn't exist back when I originally bought everything so had to buy it all as separates).
I wouldn't really recommend the R45s for much more than the rear speakers, just too small to make an impact. The R90 package is a great all rounder.
I've since replaced the fronts with 2 x R270s and a R225 centre - this is a world apart from the previous set up - that said, what we had before was good enough and I got into a lot of trouble once the wife saw 1) the size of the new speakers and 2) the receipt.

Right; just back with the 200. I did look at the 225 but it was border line size-wise. And the OH would deffo notice it....
All had some 90 surround speakers priced up - will deffo go for those as I get my house done up as I'm going to need 2 x surround sound set ups and 1 x dedicated audio one.
Might also get the MA sub (the fells suggested the 390) but I'll have a look at the BK's.
And I'll also get a Yamaha RXA 680.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Even though it's going to cost me an arm and leg. LOL.

Excellent. It's a tradition for me when I move house (which had been quite frequent) to upgrade AV kit as I go. As the spending somehow just gets lost in the scheme of things. Funny that :-)Loving the Radius 200.
Previously I was watching TV in 2.1 mode and therefore having to turn it up sometimes in order to hear the dialogue. And then annoying one of my kids who's trying to sleep upstairs.
Now at night I can turn the sub down (or turn it off entirely) and still get a full, clear sound from the 3 x Monitor Audios.
Watched Taboo episode 7 in that mode last night and it was a revelation.
And the OH still hasn't noticed - excellent.
