I have been on the look out for a new TV for a while now, and had settled on a Sony 55XD9305. At the weekend I stopped by the local department store, where they had an ex-dipslay one for £929 (previously £1249). I made them an offer of £800 expecting it to be turned down, but got a deal.

It's apparently in perfect condition and comes with a 5 year warranty, plus I can return within 28 days no questions asked if I want to.

So once its delivered, what should I be checking for given it's an ex-display model? I've never bought one before, but this seemed like a reasonably good deal, and if there are any issues I can always take it back.

Thanks in advance.

I've had a Sony 55XD9305 for about 6 weeks now (bought new at their full price) and I've previously had ex-display TVs from stores with no problems.

I would just put it on the stand, plug everything in and then power it up, if anything doesn't work then ring them...
