Just handed in my cancellation earlier in the week - been a customer for 14 years.
I'm coming off the back of a 60% + £50 credit deal = £37 per month and the best they could do was £45 per month. That's for HD.
I'm after Sky Q and wouldn't mind paying the £12 per month multiroom on my old subs i.e. £49 per month but they could only quote me £83 per month...
I wouldn't mind but in June when my contract expires, i would have been with them for 15 years and would get the Sky Q upgrade with free install, which is what i'm happy to pay for!
We'll see what happens over the next few weeks.
For 15+ years Diamond VIP the Q upgrade isn't even free anymore. It's now £20 upfront. I'm coming off the back of a 60% + £50 credit deal = £37 per month and the best they could do was £45 per month. That's for HD.

The generally accepted thinking is that it costs you 5 times the amount to attract a new customer than to keep an old one. It's almost as if they are deciding that the subscription model is dead and they want everyone on on demand services that are significantly cheaper, but that would be madness on their part!

SKY do appear to be doing everything they can to aggravate their existing customer base, which is so daft it's unbelievable.

Not just Sky. VM doing the same. I've been a VM customer since they were telewest and last year I dropped the TV from my package and they refused point blank to offer me any kind of deal. I kept the broadband because I need it for work and at the time the BT/Sky offering wasn't good enough. I've just switched to SKY and VM attempt to keep me was to offer a like for like package that I'm getting from SKY but for £20PM more.... I'm looking to upgrade to Sky Q but am having trouble getting a definitive from Sky to the following, can anyone here from Sky help?
Already have one Sky HD box and Virgin BB. Looking at Ultra HD so realise I need a mini box as well and I will also get the sky hub.
I don't want to change my BB setup so want to keep my modem and router. Will Sky allow this and will the boxes work okay.
I assume the 2TB Sky Q box works via the dish, so if I got the above but didn't connect the mini box, would that be a work around if Sky insist on the hub?
Thanks

I'd have probably taken £45. Cheapest I could get was £71 from the CS guy, then down to £57 from cancellations. I'm only paying £37pm too and don't want to increase it that much.I'm coming off the back of a 60% + £50 credit deal = £37 per month and the best they could do was £45 per month. That's for HD.

It was quite a funny chat to be honest. The advisor was adamant she was saving me hundreds of pounds per year and couldn't understand me when i said i wasn't willing to pay more for the same service!Have cancelled
Incidentally, it was a right carry on to get to a live chat. On the contact page, the option for live chat wasn't there - until i deleted the cookies for the site and then it appeared as if by magic. Obviously want you to call them so they can try and pressure the customer to accept a deal without being able to check the figures in their own time...
That's the same as I got. She couldn't believe I would accept 30 per month discount as if it was the best offer in the world. They apparently no longer do my package and have called or showing else whilst charging more for it. Its just the full HD package, I said I wasnt bothered what it was called now and I didn't want to pay 20 now than I'm currently paying so cancelled
