It used to be 6 months, unless it has changed? I still get phone calls to return 2 years later, no, not interested

Just had a text from Sky this morning. I only have 2 days before my services go off! Phone some number to discuss my options and continue watching. Continue paying they mean - I’m not watching now and I don’t plan to be in the near future.

Tempting given that Netflix UHD by itself is £15.99. But I just can't face the haggling every 18 months so I won't be rejoining even if I could get that deal.

Just done mine - hadn't realised it had gone up from £23 to £51 monhtly.

New deal, £28 a month with a new Sky Q box (previously had the old HD box) including netflix - previosuly paid £7 for this.

Less than I was paying 2 years ago.

Been agonising on how to view and record stuff on my computer or a new smart tv for ages, since cancelling Sky last November. Ironically, the following month I became seriously ill and am now paraplegic, so spend a fair amount of time on the computer now - such is life...

After weighing up all the options I succumbed to Sky again as my EE broadband had gone up to £35pm. Sky were offering Superfast Broadband and phone line, with basic tv channels and a Sky Q box, for £30pm with no set up fee, for £18 months.

Seems a decent deal and the included SkyGo app is very user friendly, meaning I can view all the channels on my computer, so no need for a new tv for the bedroom, with good catch up facilities too.

Thanks. Already had terminal blood/bone cancer and a new tumour pressed against the spinal cord completely paralysing me from the nipples downwards. Had to sell the 911 and my Ducati and MV Agusta bikes too! Spent six months in hospital and then caught sepsis, which nearly killed me, leaving me with additional symptoms resembling motor neurone disease and a brain tumour, as the final line of chemo failed.

Confined to bed most days, hence the interest in Sky deals, but can just about use a computer. I am reminded that there's always someone worse off than you, as I can still hear the birds, see sunsets, smell coffee and croissants and enjoy Bach!

I've not read the Buying Cars sub forum for some time...

Thanks one and all. Playing the waiting game now that no suitable chemo treatments are available.

Got the loan of a nice powered wheelchair, maximum speed 4mph! But it can manage to take me across the garden and into the summerhouse, which is a lovely place to invite company for drinks and nibbles and listen to wonderful music on the top end hi fi I resurrected :-)

Getting back to Sky deals, I'm impressed with the desktop SkyGo program, which has removed any rush to get a big telly in the bedroom.

I’ve been a Sky customer since 2000 and we watch it less and less now, most is on catch up or Prime/Netflix. I’m seriously thinking of ditching it for Humax Freesat box

3/4 of the way through my cancellation period, got this through

The boxes for my Q kit have yet to arrive, so I’m gonna wait for them and see if there’s a better offer in there

Morning all. Newest deals for New Customers only. Here's the blurb...

- Sky Ultimate TV (Sky Q and Netflix, HD & UHD) for 21 a month, new customers only.

- Sky Ultimate TV (Sky Q and Netflix, HD & UHD) and Superfast Broadband for 37 a month, new customers only. This triple play package is now even
better than before; it has the unbeatable price on Ultimate TV (previously it included Sky Signature, which doesn't have Netflix, HD or UHD), and makes
Sky Broadband Superfast just 16 a month (as a standalone offer through Friends and Family Exclusives, Sky Broadband Superfast is 23 a month).

Hi Davie, is this still the latest deal?
Just realised mine is coming to an end in July so need to get the ball rolling.

HI mate - yes still going but as you have a deal in place you'd have to play the game. Happy to send you the deets though - send me an IM.

OH has our sky contract finishing at the end of June. She just called to see if there were any reductions from our current deal and was basically told no.

Currently
Tv = £80.32 comprising of:
F1 £18
Cinema £9
HD / UHD £10
Signature £29.17
Multiscreen £14.15

Broadband: £45.54 comprising of
International / anytime £12.87
Fibre 76mb £32.67

£125.86 pm

Is it worth phoning back after contract ends to get a better deal? Or even threatening to leave then?

I'm guessing we could actually cancel and I become a new customer with new bank account payment for new deals once the current contract has finished!?

It just seems an awful lot of money per month / year when our most used parts are just movies and F1.

Don’t be afraid to actually put in your 31 days notice, it shows intent to cancel rather than just chancing your arm. Will likely get a better offer before the 31 days is up.

Wondering if anyone knows of a way of getting the mini sky q boxes cheaper. They told me at sky they are often up for half price but i have never seen this.

Any help greatly appreciated.
Did you manage to get a good deal on a Q Mini box? They are £50 on the Sky website right now, which seems a tad expensive.

Great deal. Was that from your 50% off offer at the 3/4 way through the cancellation period? Or was there additional negotiation?
