Just had an email from Sky to say I can now get Discovery Plus at no extra charge saving me £6.99 a month.
Surely I’d have to already be spending £6.99 a month on Discovery Plus for this to now be a saving?
The whole Discovery Plus thing is marketing hype - it's free!!Surely I’d have to already be spending £6.99 a month on Discovery Plus for this to now be a saving?
I think Sky know their own TV isn't worth the subscription charges and have to offer other apps to make it seem justifiable.
Sky Sports is about the only part of Sky I watch. I don't think the Sports channels are as good as they used to be. So much going over old events and best ofs. More events moving over to PPV. Too often the same programme or game is on two different channels at the same time. They are lacking content for the amount of channels.
Sky is not worth the money.

Is this Sky giving us Discovery + for free or some months down the line it gets put on our monthly ???
https://www.skygroup.sky/en-gb/article/sky-tv-customers-to-get-discovery-including-its-full-entertainment-and-sports-line-up-at-no-extra-cost-saving-6-99-a-month-It's being added to the base package.
"Sky TV customers already enjoying the 12-months’ discovery+ Entertainment pass will now be able to access the discovery+ Entertainment and Sport service on an ongoing basis as part of their Sky TV package. Those customers will be automatically upgraded"
We move out our current house into temp accommodation next week as our new place is not ready.
I’m coming up to the end of my current deal and just can’t decide what to do next.
It’s really expensive as it stands but the convenience of makes it hard to give up.
We are paying about £100 for sky q and bb with 2 extra boxes the only proper extra I have is the F1 just seems mental for what it is

What do people think of sky stream (puck) now that it's been out a few months?
Sky doing a 1 month free trial at the moment.
I have not tried it yet, however they are offering the Entertainment package, which includes Netflix for £20 a month (18 month contract) I am sure they will get desperate and reduce it further. Sky doing a 1 month free trial at the moment.

I’ve done the same for a few months. Sky have a limited version you can change to that’s £15/month when you’re in contract. Kicking myself I didn’t phone and ask before.I’m coming up to the end of my current deal and just can’t decide what to do next.

My £46/month for preset much has gone up to £80. Got it down to £68, but still cancelled. I don’t need it for a few months and the current new customer deal is the same price, so I’ll take the risk when I complete on my new house. (That’s before I ask one of the lovely people on this thread for a discount!)

Yeah thinking I just cancel and see what happens all the ad ons just seem ridiculous like having to pay for HDMy £46/month for preset much has gone up to £80. Got it down to £68, but still cancelled. Has anyone during an upgrade got rid of the phone and copper wire broadband and upgraded to their full fibre fttp service?
Been hanging on while fibre has been installed down our road, been taking forever. Released last week.
Presumably there's a different router needed, and would our existing TP Link mesh system plug into that or do we have to replace that as well?

The visit will take place in two stages, Openreach will first fix the property with a new drop wire / underground wire and install a grey joint box on the outside of the house called the CSP. Depending on your area then either a sky engineer or another Openreach engineer will attend to run a cable from the CSP drill through the wall and install an ONT (the modern equivalent of the phone socket) Your hub will plug into this (has to be the stand up black hub 4.2 with the phone socket on the back) and your phone will plug into this as there’s no phone point on the ONT.Been hanging on while fibre has been installed down our road, been taking forever. Speed can be anything up to 500mb with sky (BT offer 950MB but only the most hardcore of users would need anything near this) but the reliability will be far better as the infrastructure is all new

Already have the stand up 4.2 hub, so think that the existing switch will plug into that and the master node for the mesh wifi system plugged into that. Just the same for any other items plugged into the switch, eg Blu Ray player etc.
Was thinking of ditching the landline phone side of things as we never use it for outgoing, only ever used for rare incoming. Most of those are unwanted to the extent we have a Truecall unit in place.

We’re having some fun locally after new shared infrastructure went in for full fibre. Our house builder (Redrow in 2015) allowed a total bodge of the copper phone wire install, so we don’t have proper ducted entry into the house. Luckily Openreach seem prepared to go to some effort to gain access to where the cable enters the house (in our case it pokes out through a hole in the plasterboard just above the skirting board!)Speed can be anything up to 500mb with sky (BT offer 950MB but only the most hardcore of users would need anything near this) but the reliability will be far better as the infrastructure is all new
VM are saying they can’t install into that ducting as the junction chambers have gas seals that they’re not allowed to disturb. Seems very odd…..
If you’ve got multiple land line points in the house, can these still be used after upgrade to FF? Although we have the old master phone point in the cupboard where the modem, router and server all live it’s not a convenient place to put a handset

Discovery+ still works, just checked:-
If it dies, I can get it free for 6 months via my Voda mobile contract!

Both our TV and Mobile are due next month for renewal. Our VM BB is also up for renewal. Looking at what we pay for VM BB, Sky's equivalent cost is for a much quicker BB service.
Considering moving BB to Sky as part of negotiations. Does anyone have access to any deals please?
Ping me if you still need a deal. I’ll post the most recent deals soon. Considering moving BB to Sky as part of negotiations. Does anyone have access to any deals please?

I’d be interested - we’re out of contract and getting fleeced over £100 a month for basic phone and BB (not full fibre which is now available where we live) and TV (HD and UHD, F1, kids, multi-room, signature). I forget how we end up with Netflix within that - think it was linked to multi-room and UHD?Adrian E said:
