@Prohibiting,
My wife has just cancelled our sky contract, if i was to take out a contract in my name would you be able to source a deal?
I am after: TV (hopefully inc movies and sports), BB and phone line. x1 multiiroom would be a bonus (we already have a sky feed and box upstairs for when we initially had multi room)
Thanks,
Tom
PS funny first post i know but i can't remember my password for my old account!

Hi Prohibiting,

What deals are available for a new customer? I need phone, BB (not sure if fibre is in my area) and all the channels bar sports and the mucky ones laugh

Morning

we cancelled Sky more than 12 months ago but are considering rejoining but have a main house and annex - would sky Q setup be sufficient or do we need a seperate setup (the wifi does not reach the annex but have not tried wifi extenders etc as of yet)

i would appreciate informnation on current deals (property out in sticks so not suitable for fibre, currently on BT broadband).

many thanks

A Sky Engineer can hardwire a mini box if signal is an issue. Another option is to use a powerline adaptor at each end. The Sky man will advisor you best when physically at your house getting it setup for you. They are very good!

@Prohbiting - can you do anything for those who are still 'in contract'? I'm paying £27/month for the Box Sets bundle, no films or sport, following a re-contract last year where I declined paying loads for a new Q box so I'm still using the old Sky+ box.

£27/mth for the boxset bundle is a good price. PM'd though

Hi prohibiting. Not sure if you can be of any assistance. I'm currently in contract without about 12 months left to run (Boxsets & movies) at £42 a month.

I'm toying with the idea of upgrading to Sky Q and would have no problem re-subscribing to the same package for another 18 months. Are there any deals to be done?

Hi Prohibiting wavey

I've been a Sky customer for 14 years.
I'm moving into a new home in a few months time with my partner. We are both selling our own respective homes before this joint venture.
I called Sky to cancel my account as I am moving into her house following the sale of mine. Sky convinced me to take my account with me to her house (She has crappy TalkTalk), charging me £30 for the installation which I thought was OK for the 2-3 months I'd be living there.
We would then look at the cost of Sky again before we move.
Would it be more wise to start again with my partner as a NEW customer and look for a better deal they might offer to attract them or do you advise we stay under my name as a customer of 14 years?
What are the benefits as a loyal customer? I don't subscribe to any movies or sports but may have boxsets or a kids package.
Thanks.

Hi Prohibiting,

Just handed notice in on a rolling 1 month contract for Sky Original and Sports (£24.75/mth - no sports HD) as 50% off is due to finish end of July and retentions aren't offering anything close. Would love to add Sports HD (only option at the time was to upgrade basic package first) and keep to ~£25 a month, realistic?!

Appreciate any help/feedback beer

Being the (im)patient sort of chap I am, I went ahead and upgraded anyway as they have a deal on currently whereby the minibox is no extra charge. I think the girl I spoke to might have made a mistake too as She only charged me £30 for the install, rather than the £65 on the website (She definitely confirmed the order was for a 2TB box with UHD content).

I think that puts me at £53 a month for movies, boxsets and Sky Q - which seems pretty reasonable to me.

OK, wanted to watch a prog on Disc HD, message says no sat signal, which is bks as other channels were fine, did a search and have lost some other channels as well.
So I call up cust service.....go to services/signal all fine, unplug it wait a while, reboot and lost an input. Box is hot.
So sky matey says you'll need a new box, I'll send an engineer out to see wassup and that'll be 65 quid thankyou...……….WHAT. All I need is a new box just post me one. Ah ha, we don't send out HD+ boxes anymore just Sky Q and that'll be 265 pounds.

I don't want Q just send me a refurb or something...……...after a while, he comes back, it'll be 65 pounds just to post a refurb. BUT I can get you a deal and get an engineer to come out for 65 and I will give you a rebate of 35 pounds and the engineer will have a few refurbed boxes with him, so you'll only pay 30 pounds.

I'm paying 85 pcm at the mo, so I joked well I'll cancel my subs and get the wife to call you and get a Q box and probably a better deal. Yep he says, I can do that as well...……

Upshot guess I need a chat with matey Prohibiting on here......pm me pse
