After having to call every month to see if i can get something fixed on our broadband the price increase is the final straw (oh and the internet dropping totally 5 times in 2 days)

I'm on the phone to cancel the broadband as they keep saying "nothings wrong". Out of 10 months and 10 calls ive had 1 advisor who has helped. The rest have been as good as condom in a nuns purse ffs!

I've had the letters asking me to stay, I can have all I already have for £90 as apposed to the £62 I was paying in contract.

One thing that got me though was I can have UHD for only £5, now wait a cotton picking minute but UHD doesn't come off the satellite but my internet connection, are they really trying to charge me £5 to use my own internet connection, you know the one I already pay sky for?

They really are a joke.

Not true. Kind of. It’s a bit of both. If you watch any broadcast UHD content, Premier league football, F1 when it comes back, PPV Boxing in UHD that still comes via the dish. Any UHD on demand content is downloaded via your broadband.

I got UHD yesterday for £1 extra a month. It was on their website when I logged on and looked at my offers

Well they have removed the price increase for the broadband till the end of my contract and given me a months line rental free due to my issues. Lets hope the new router that arrives fixes the issues if not then i shall leave

A better view of the deals:

Are these still available? How do I go about getting the 35% off deal?

go through retentions at the end of your contract and tell them you'll leave, they'll nearly always offer you 50% off.

the best i've ever had is 60% off

Thanks but I’m a completely new customer so unable to do so. We’re renovating our new house & it currently has no internet / TV / broadband.

I've never had sky before. Going into a new house at the end of the month and had a look online for deals. Best I could do as I want to watch F1 was £64, broadband TV pack and sports. Anyone better that?

Was paying £93 per month for TV (inc UHD, multiroom, Cinema and Sports) Broadband (70mb) and phone (unused) which was going up to £139 over the next few months. After a call today I have exactly the same channels and broadband as before plus Netflix for £90 per month.

Lady I spoke to said they were always able to price match the new customer deals (excluding cashback offers) and she then added on some VIP discounts to bring it down a little more.

It's still a lot of money but as a family it gets used a lot so I'm happy enough.

Just looked and I have been with Sky for 21 years!!
Now what do we think are my chances 9f getting a discount on what I’m paying, full package, tv and broadband, not interested in going Sky Q, jus5 want a better price on what I have as not sure what is going to happen to our jobs soon

It doesn’t count for anything, when contract is up speak to retentions and they’ll offer you a 50% deal. Rinse and repeat

My contract is up in May and my monthly is due to go up from £67 to £95 (according to the future bills on the web)

I plan to call them and sign up for another 18 months in exchange for them knocking the price back down

In people’s experience, when is the best time to do this? Is now too soon or are you better off waiting until the contract ends?

I did mine this week and my contract didn’t expire until mid April.

Could I have got more off if I’d held out and haggled later? Probably.

If you are happy to pay the same as a new customer say so and they will at least price match a new customer deal.

That's where I come from - don't charge me more than a new customer. Worst case - I cancel and my partner opens an account in her name at new customer rates.

Our contract is up now and I'm looking for a new deal as currently paying £119. I want to keep F1, will probably ditch movies.

We pay for 38mbps Fibre, but only get 16mbps

I don't know if its worth switching to Sky Q as out TV and AV amp will not handle 4K

Any pointers?
