Another positive vote for the LG 55B7. A few months back I bought a Sony X93 form Currys I did go down with the intention of buying an OLED.
Anyway there was a Sony rep who convinced me that the picture of the new Sony was as good as the LG OLED plus it was half the price of the LG OLED.
My mistake, number one, listening to a salesman, and two, being too tight. In all honesty the picture was good and in the shop couldn't really see a significant difference between the two.
I've tried my hardest to get a picture I'm happy with on the Sony since I bought it and I can't.
So last Thursday morning did a bit of research about the new LG OLED's and decided that the £1700 offer Currys had was a decent price.
The B7 is supposed to be the entry level OLED and all I can say is the picture quality is superb straight out of the box. The BT 4K stuff is stunning for sport etc as is any source from Netflix and Amazon in 4K UHD.
I made a stupid mistake by not buying an OLED to start with but hopefully I can juggle the sets in the house about and flog an older one to at least retrieve some money back.

It is the entry level model but LG have publicly stated that every panel in the range is exactly the same. The only differences as you move up the range are aesthetics and sound.

Which if you're adding your own sound system makes it the pick of the bunch.

Indeed, and if you consider that most AV fans will have either a decent surround system or sound bar it is very good value for money. Although the sound reproduction in the set is reasonable anyhow.

TVs to consider at the moment.

LGB7/C7
Sony A1
Loewe Bild 4, 5 or 7
Panasonic Z952
Philips POS901

I would happily live with any of those, chose the one that does what you need it to do and which OS you prefer really.

One thing they all have in common is.........they're all OLED.

Buy an LCD if you can't afford an OLED, but there really is no other reason anymore imho.

For me I would consider an LCD if I wanted a smaller screen, not going the other way.

So for us that don’t have the space for a 55” whats the best 49” tv with a 10 bit panel?

So from my looking, I have the LG OLED B7 at £1700 55/65 £2700, or the Samsung QE65Q8C at 65 / £2400 (should be £3.5 but is exdemo).

Do you think the OLED 65 is worth more then the heavily discounted Samsung?

Or if Its better to stay at the £1700 level, stay with 55? at that price point, is the B7 LG the best bet? (as tbh I really dont need a 65. I don't understand the "hey look at my massive tv" when everyone sits 6 foot away from it anyway.)
If you’re only sitting 6 feet away from it you should sack off buying a tv and buy a bigger house.

I'm in the same situation, 55" is just a little big for my TV spot. However comparing them yesterday the OLED ones just look so much better, none of the LCD ones really stood out at all.

With the OLED screens, has anyone experienced any form of screen burn, when playing games?
I've head that this could be an issue, like on the plasma screens.

I nearly bought a SUHD screen the other day. Annoyingly this thread has now convinced me that the way forward is a B7 OLED. Now I just need them to drop to a sensible price!

I’m getting the impression Black Friday will be a bit of a flop this year as all the main sites seem to be guaranteeing their prices won’t drop between no and then.

The new Panasonic XE750B I thought looked very good image wise for an LCD. That is in 49 or 50".

Plenty bright enough, very good zoned backlighting with no noticeable light bleed and the screen seemed very uniform with no dirty screen effect when watching football (always a good test).

I agree, they should make a 49" OLED, so many people simply don't want a massive TV but do want the best image possible.

My TV room is 8mx7m so pretty big and I still didn't want a 55" in there, but in the end bought one as I wasn't prepared to compromise on image.

I am just refurbing our sitting room, and even as a big victorian living space with 10ft ceilings I still wouldn't want to go bigger than 46" in there, ideally about 40-42", but as I am now used to OLED anything in that size would just annoy me, so we have decided to not bother with a TV at all, music room only.

When do we think the 65" B7 will hit sub 2k? I'm waiting until that point before I pull the trigger.

I have a B6, great TV, B7 is apparently even better. If I get another TV for my bedroom or game room, it'll likely be another LG OLED, infact I'll likely move the B6 up there and get a B7 for living room.

B6 isn't there yet. You'll be waiting a while.

I have the KD65A1from Sony and have been really impressed with it. Looked at the LG, but really liked how the speakers on the Sony are hidden and therefore the 65 inch is that bit smaller overall than LGs effort. I think Sony’s motion processing is better, along with all the other back room stuff.

OLED65B7V 65" or OLED65C7V 65", I can't see the difference, they are both the same price in Curry's and both in stock for collection?

They're the same bar bezel and stand. I think the 'C' is a Curry's only product. All the actual panels in the range are exactly the same, they just have different sound systems and a different look to them.

earlier this year I bought a Samsung KS7000 which I now use with my One X, I think I paid about £850 for the 55" one. I looked at the LG OLED etc when buying it and to be honest I couldn't tell any real difference in the picture quality, I'm sure the OLED is better but maybe my eyes are just rubbish as there was no noticeable difference, not one where I could justify spending double the money anyway. I've been really impressed with the TV and haven't yet had any of the issues others have reported with them
