...I really want another 2250 and the Celestion System 6000 sub woofers.
Do people put subwoofers in hi-fi systems these days? I thought that was more for home cinema 5.1 stuff? Itsallicanafford said:
Extra point for recognising the album playing?!
...Bowie? (Ziggy stardust)
Great Rega you have there!...Bowie? (Ziggy stardust)
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
It's split onto two records and all four sides have the same plain orange centres. Makes finding a particular track rather time consuming.
It's great to see some pretty serious setups out there!
The only bit of my set-up that I'm willing to show, Pink Triangle PT1, Linn Ittok and Ortofom MC20 all about 30 years old. I did compare the Pink Triamgle to a Linn and preferred the Pink Triangle added to that the easy speed change. You can just see the top of the XLP phono pre-amp I use as well and a X-DAC for the Marantz CD63 CD player..
I do have some plans to beef up the PSU's for the Pink Triangle and the XLP.
Currently it's running into a Yamaha AV amp, although I do have an Audiolab 8000A out on loan.

I bet that can sound quite magical
Not as good as it did 6 months ago. We've just moved to a much smaller house, and the room sizes and layouts mean that the Quads don't work as well as they did in our last house. They just don't have the space they need. Mind you, they are still better than the other speakers I have - we spent about three months swapping between a pair of PMC Fact8s, a pair of B+W 805s and the Quads, and my wife (who listens mainly to opera) at the end of all of that said she preferred the Quads. I did too, but she had the final say as they totally dominate the room they are now in.Even with sub optimal siting, there is something awesome about the way that electrostatic speakers present voices.
I have a fairly modest system setup in the family room consisting of...
Yamaha RN-602 receiver
Project Debut SE 3 turntable
Old Marantz CD player (not sure of the model)
Monitor Audio silver 6
Terrible photo but you get the idea.
Just using a B&W Zeppelin air in the lounge.
I have a Marantz OSE6010 amp, Tannoy profile 632 speakers and Denon CD player in the garage. I intend to man cave the space at some point. Also have an old Technics CH-550 system gathering dust.
