I run the Topping from a powerbank and since installing the Jitterbug I have to charge it less often, so it does seems to be doing something?

Hah fair enough. I'm guilty of having put 'performance' air filters on a car, so in no place to judge I run the Topping from a powerbank and since installing the Jitterbug I have to charge it less often, so it does seems to be doing something?
^^ I would have thought the Naim & B&W would have made a good combo....
That said, with your budget, I would be keen to audition the Kef LS50ii - it satisfies the requirement of reducing boxes and I'm sure a friendly dealer would let you audition your cd player with them too.
May be a left field suggestion - I haven't heard these, but have 'heard' good things about them

John Darko has a few LS50 wireless reviews up on his YouTube channel. I think he may have done a compare between old and new revisions. Wireless and standard LS’s too. The app is iffy, definitely. As was the whole on-boarding process to get them set up. Very fiddly.

I think this is the issue. For most, the LS wireless are all they would need. Especially with the sub integration. But the longevity of the app would concern a little. Like we are in limbo with Sonos V1. Kef LS50 Meta arrived today... Whilst the overall sound and stereo surround is really excellent, I'm not hearing £600 extra in improvements. Couple that with the deep bass notes like the bank scene in The Dark Knight being just less cinematic I've decided to return them and keep my Q300s. LS50s are smaller too, both cabinet sizes and main driver size so that probably explains why I prefer my old ones. Front firing bass port also makes a noticeable difference.
All in all, similar "sound", just the old speakers sound better because there's more sound to go round. Oh and over £600 cheaper

I have this with my current speakers. A relatively large driver in a small box. They dig down surprisingly well. There’s nothing I would want to replace them with. If I want to stick with a 6” driver, all current choices have rather large cabinets.
Were the LS’s already run in?
Get yourself a sub and turn what you have into a full range set up. I only switch mine on when having a proper listen, or when watching a movie. My set up is - Audiolab 6000a, Monitor Audio RX1, BK XLS200.
It adds so much more than just mid and sub bass. It adds a depth of atmosphere which I find hard to articulate. Especially so with live recordings. And adds a sensible amount of low level information for movies. But it can also keep up when listening to music.
I’m starting to get quite interested with the new generation of class D amps that can control low pass and height pass filters to send signal to the right box.

I've actually gone back to my Kef Q300s and am in the process of returning the Metas. They were brand new so not run in although from experience with Kef in general I'll know what they will be like even out the box. It's physically impossible for the LS to punch beyond the Q300s I have realised even though the specs on paper may point otherwise. The cabinets are phsyically smaller, the drivers are almost 1" smaller too with the main standout improvement being the new gen UNi-Q tweeter which has the meta material stuff at the back to remove 99% of all back pressure from the tweeter driver.Were the LS’s already run in?

The LS's bass reflex port is also smaller and with those differences considered, it's clear why I found them not to be as cinematic as the Q300s even though the sound signature itself was very similar and what I'm used to.
If I kept the LS50 Meta I'd probably consider a sub, the Kef KC62, but the Q300s do not need a sub at all, they kick that low there hasn't been as ingle time since the turn of last decade that I thought I could benefit from a sub.
I might get the KC62 anyway at some point just to trial it out for a bit. My NAD amp has the hp filter options for 120Hz, 80Hz and 40Hz so is something I could probably play with.
