I am particular, I confess to being an audiophile.
...
I have Bose PC speakers, have done for a long time, and swear by them
...
I currently have the basic Samsung 2:1 soundbar from 2012
...
However, we watch a fair bit of Netflix / DVD and I noticed a huge difference in sound output as it stands. Even Youtube sounds great
...
My TV sound comes through a Humax box
That's some priceless stuff there.
I'm going to tell you right now, Dizee, you're absolutely nothing like an audiophile if that's your setup/opinions. laughlaughlaugh

I just can't understand the mentality of someone who calls themselves an "audiophile" yet believes that a £1200 soundbar and sub can create a better sound (no matter how subjective the word "better" is) than a proper 5.1 system for the same price or significantly less. Self-awareness is obviously not a strong suit.

Plenty of real enthusiasts have a sound bar in their front rooms. A full system in the lounge is unnecessary when they have a dedicated cinema room with a projector and monstrous sound system in what used to be a garage.
Is this Pistonheads? Garages are for cars not movies surely. smile

Comical pricing for BOSE equipment, nothing new there.

If you want a decent soundbar/sub combo that'll rubbish most of these silly little ones on the market then ARCAM is the main option.

£300 for the solo plus soundbar then £300 for the matching 300W sub makes an incredible combo.

Quality of sound > 969 micro speaker psuedo surround rubbish soundbar and weasy sub.
I can echo the above advice.

The Arcam, I have (can't remember the model) is superb.

Nothing can touch it this side of £1k, I think I paid a lot more for it LOL.

Mines full of several motorbikes, motorbike parts, tools, several sets of car alloys and mountain bikes. Not a chance a car is going in there.
