I know I can stick these on ebay and see what happens but thought would check in here first to get some hopefully useful feedback :-)

When remodeling my place back in mid 2009 I went out and purchased an Onkyo Txsr606 Black amp from Richer Sounds (even got the pay extra extended warranty... silly) and also bought in from Germany a 5.1 movie CD102 set from Canton. The living room took a bit longer than expected to get finished and by the time it was finally done I had excepted a new job in Singapore, so they sat in their respective unopened boxes and then moved to the other side of the world with me. The places I rented out there didn't really need 5.1 surround sound, so after 6 years they came back to blighty having been stored well in a dry storeroom.

I hardly watch my TV these days so can't really be bothered to set them up now, having done without for the last 9 years... Do you think there might be a much interest in the Amp?

Amazon still sell the Canton speakers for about £320+shipping, so I guess these have a bit more value.

Any thoughts on where should advertise them other than ebay/gumtree. I'm based in London (E14)

Thanks

Speakers will have a resale value.

Amps unfortunately go out of date pretty quickly as standards change. If you are able to get anything second hand for it, it may not be worth the hassle / postage. Just check ebay & the like and see what they go for.

I have 3 old AV amps collecting dust myself. One without DTS, One without HDMI and one like yours 1080p not 4K.

I had the same amp and sold it, boxed and as new with all accessories for £70, two years ago.

They’re nice amps but not worth anything these days.

Amazing how fast they depreciate because they dont have "wifi", "bluetooth", or some other jargon.
If one just wants to use it as a DAC/preamp, there are such good deals to be had biggrin

Agreed. My 7 channel Pioneer THX certified Air studios tuned amp with pre in & outs. Sound was amazing and probably worth north of £1000 when new.

Unfortunately it's not HDMI and I had all sorts of lip sync issues from video sources so couldn't put up with it anymore. So at the moment I have an incredibly large, bulky and heavy Amp (I actually put my back out carrying it upstairs) which I just don't want to get rid of. I keep kidding myself that I'll uses it one day.

Been through 2 subsequent amps since then that have got progressively cheaper and lasted a darn sight shorter before becoming obsolete.
