I bought an eletriq oled 55" TV for £899 new. Uses an LG OLED panel.

Fantastic bit of kit, priced £1000 too low for what it's capable of

After seeing oled I won't be able to watch ordinary led again

Think about how much the vibrancy of the display affects what you watch. If you watch a lot of sporty stuff, where colour differentiation is key, you may want to plump for the QLED option. To cut a long and boring story short, the ‘self illuminating’ displays ( OLED / AMOLED ) are great, but the pixels are effectively ‘jack of all trades masters of none’ as far as colour pallets are concerned. The QLED lets the pixels do what they do best ( blue light ) then uses Quantum switching, to get the full colour spectrum. The upshot is, that the QLED displays are far more vibrant, and colour dependant applications ( sports / nature documentaries / whatever ) look better.

I picked up a 55B7 a couple of months ago and have just managed to get it all wall mounted and connected up. I also treated myself to an Apple TV 4K so now I have a full rig running 4K (Denon Receiver which is also 4K).

Having come from a 12 year old 42" Panasonic plasma I am simply blown away with the new panel. The apps on the Apple TV are also leagues ahead of the old Roku 3 with Plex, Prime, Now TV and iPlayer all looking stunning. I ran some 4K youtube videos and the detail is incredible.

I can't recommend the B7 (paired with an Apple TV 4K) enough although it is still early days.
Just a question, is there a reason you prefer the 'smart apps' of iplayer etc on the apple tv rather than the built in LG efforts?

TBH I haven't bothered using the LG Apps, I have A Sky HD box plugged in that is just for Freeview and everything else goes through the Apple TV.

I like the latest Apple TV, a lot, I use it on my B&O in the sitting room, however, I have never felt the need for it on LG OLED as the apps do all I want and one less remote.

The fact all the apps I use and the SkyQ input are all on the home screen I find superb.

iPlayer, Netflix, Prime are all the same, but not sure however if youtube is HDR through the app on the TV?

Well, a few days into ownership and it’s tome for an update.

It’s excellent. Twinned with Sky Q it really is a pleasure to watch especially anything in Uktra HD. The Grand Tour is especially sharp with some of the sexy car shots really stunning.

Watched a repeat earlier of the German GP in Ultra HD too and again the detail is immense.

Will check out a few films during the week and report back. One thing that did confuse me however is that other than the Grand Tour I’ve not found a film that fills the complete screen without having a strip of black top and bottom. Why would this be?
