So currently on a visit to Sydney and it appears that cetain electronics are working out a bit cheaper than the UK. SO before i come back want to get some headphones

Stuck between getting these:

Bose QC35 II Over ear ( Approx £215 here vs £329 in the UK)

Sony WH1000MX3 Over ear ( Approx £220 here vs £309 in the UK)

Bose QC30 In ear ( Approx £192 here vs £250 in the UK)

Stuck to which ones i should get
If you want to wait till you get back before deciding then note that you can pick up the Bose QC 35 II's from Amazon Spain for ~£235. I did and the order was fulfilled by Amazon UK, so were the English version and arrived within 2 days:

https://www.amazon.es/Bose-QuietComfort-35-Auricul...

The other models you noted may also be similarly priced.

I much preferred the sound signature of the sony's so got a pair along with the OH. Still going strong after hundreds of hours of usage and make long journeys a pleasure

Sony WH1000MX3 vs Bose QC35 II -

I have the Sony headphones, my mate has the Bose and we recently travelled to New York (8hr flight) and swapped headphones for the return flight so here's our experiences of both -

Sony - Slightly better noise cancelling (marginal maybe, depending on hearing ability), more comfortable over 8hrs despite "looser" fit, better App, audio sound quality is very good but not excellent, gesture control using right headphone touchpad is inaccurate at times (didn't register double taps to pause/play 50% of the time), good battery life.

Bose - Better fit but strangely less comfortable over time, very slightly better audio quality, has buttons for functions rather than needing a software app, extremely good noise cancelling.

So, pretty much a tie, neither of us would swap and both are happy with either - Basically this post is of no help what so ever -Sorry! biggrin

Sony over the Bose easily.

We both had plantronics which have now been retired for the MX3. Bose cost more, didn't sound as good and the NC has been eclipsed by the new Sonys.

I just bought the sony wh-1000xm3 and initially found them superb. But after an hour they get uncomfortable - my ear touches the inner speaker grille very slightly as the thin foam compresses. This doesn't bode well for longevity. The foam isn't very dense compared to my Sennheiser PXC550 (same issue ear rubs). Same issue with Bose - I must have an odd shaped right ear!
Now heres a thing. A couple of years ago I had some Beats Studio wireless and these were supremely comfortable. But the ANC wasn't switchoffable. Now it is, I bought the latest studio 3. Now the sound isn't as good as either (hence trying the Sony's) and neither is ANC, but I can wear them all day with out issues. So dilemma now. Do I keep the beats or Sony's, and hope someone sells replacement ear pads which are more dense/thicker?!

Get yourself a set of bespoke ear pads made from the likes of snuggs or any decent hearing company. I have a set from ultimate ear in Orpington and they fit my headphones perfectly and are that comfortable that I don’t even feel like I’m wearing headphones

So despite asking which ones to get - I didn’t get either in the end ..

Ended up buying some other things like an iPad Pro and managed to persuade the shop guy to give me the eduacational discount which got me a free pair of Powerbeats 3- not noise cancelling but couldn’t really justify buying another paid of headphones..

Amy sure will be asking the same question in a few months time again..

Seems there are some people on here with the qc35ii.
I don’t know where my cable is.
Seen replacements on Ama zon for £6 but is there any benefit of getting that, or any other cable that will be better.
I don’t need anything more than 1m.

Utter utter tossers as neighbours - Sony XM's have saved me from kicking down the front door and going to jail.

Im wearing them now, itunes on low and can hear nothing else at all.

Bliss.....

I read the internets and went to Joh Lewis to trial them - busyass JL , put them on and all goes silent....

Yes, £250, but for me, worth every penny.

Got some Amazon buds a week ago they have notice reduction they are ok but not as good as my Sony XMs.

Problem is already bloody lost one, well left one somewhere hope it's still where I left it next week when I can pop back. So easy to lose the ear buds.

I've got mine on now so I can continue to enjoy myself without falling out with next door.

If you are traveling a lot they are worth every penny
