What sources do you want to plug in to it? Speaker or speakers plural.
If you've got the space for a pair then the Kef LSX active speakers might be an option

If you want some real quality with a quite incredible sound from small loudspeakers, these Falcons would be my choice:

They really are astonishing.

A wired speaker means it will be plugged into an amp yes?
Passive speakers are passive and normally come in pairs, but their are some exceptions.
‘Wireless speakers’ are ones that plug into the main, have amps inside and receive wired, or wireless music inputs.
However, you mention flac player plug in, which would suggest a Hi-FI / Zone player with built in amp and mains power supply built in.
Please explain what you mean?

If you just want a pair of small high quality passive speakers (need an amp), then you can do much worse than the Neat Iotas
ETA - check the actual dimensions - they are tiny, but deliver great sound. Only weak point is if you're after significant bass (there are some physical limits to low bass and the size of the speaker). Could always add a sub though....
FWIW, I'm using a pair of these with a REL 7i sub driven by an integrated valve amp with Nottingham Acoustics Ace Spacedeck turntable and they sound really good.

You could get a Sonos Play 5 - they sound good and have an audio jack in the back for direction connection to your FLAC player.
The advantage with the Sonos is that you could also use it for Spotify etc when not in high fidelity mode.
This is a good shout. The 5 sounds pretty decent...our kitchen has 2x Play 1 speakers, which are also great but have no audio jack. The advantage with the Sonos is that you could also use it for Spotify etc when not in high fidelity mode.
We find it great for our needs having a few dotted about. Probably used for radio 50% of the time, but nice to be able to easily group them for when wandering from one wing to the other (or just downstairs for a cuppa)
If you have a Richer Sounds nearby, perhaps pay them a visit for a listen....

Does such a thing exist ?
Looking for one for the kitchen which I can plug my flac player into.
Please elaborate, as you ask for small singal ‘wired speaker’, state you need inputs, but discount an amplified ‘speaker’ system with inputs.Looking for one for the kitchen which I can plug my flac player into.
Currently confused but want to help.
