Devialet Phantom Golds

Popped in to see a mate's new home and was blown away by the paid of Gold Devialet Phantoms he had. I know audiophiles usually frown upon all in one packages but these things were fking amazing - I have only heard sound like this in nightclubs!

Anyone else on here own these and what are they like to live with?

Surprised there are no other owners on here. If they were black I would have got a pair for home - they have just launched the reactors (smaller speakers) in a lovely matte black and chances are the phantoms will follow soon.

They go Boom boom boom. Cannot be repaired ? And sound Like Bose . BUT most certainly not Hifi speakers. Now their amplifiers are a whole different ball game !

To my ears they were light years ahead of Bose systems as I have had a few in my lifetime.

They are very much like BOSE . Designed to skip parts of the Fq spectrum. So you end up missing a lot of the mid to high end up stuff. Sounds “cool at first’ .But for the money you could buy much much better SQ speakers

lots of people moaning about these things failing and Devialet wont fix them , i think if you have the extended warranty they just replace them.
I cant understand why they only come in white, look better in black . Sound good but having a £3k paperweight is a worry

They Bin them and send out new ones. The mark up these is HUGE so they don’t worry . yes they produce a huge amount of noise .I have seen 3 of them in a home cinema set up .They blew the room apart . BUT, not very SQ at all and a bit tiring after 30 mins . The technology behind them is good. The biggest mistake was trying to make them look stupid. Better enclosures would have been a much better answer .But lets not forget their Amps , they are something very special .

I recently purchased a refurbed Silver Phantom, (12months warranty) plenty powerful enough and at 1200 quid nothing comes close for an independent wireless speaker. Also adds a nice feature talking point in the corner of the room.

Agree shame they only come in white as the little matt black reactor looks great.
