Hi I am looking at a micro HiFi and plumped for the DenonD-M41 with Q speakers, but at Richer sounds I am unable to get delivery but John Lewis have them in stock but with Denons own speakers, my query is are the Denon speakers any good compared to Q speakers?
Thanks.

I can’t answer your question, except to say that I’ve read that the Denon speakers are a good match. Certainly not seen anything derogatory.
Peter Dyson offers different speakers as a package and might be worth a look see.
The Denon is available from a few outlets without speakers. I’m waiting for Black Friday.
I have a set of Concept 20 ready here ... they might sound carp, who knows!

The Denon Speakers are supposed to be a good match - there is a special EQ mode on the M41 that's tuned to work with them.

I've got an M41 with Monitor Audio Bronze 1 speakers for my office PC. I got them a bundle deal from Peter Tyson. They also do various bundles with Q-Acoustics speakers, so might be worth a look on their site.

I've got a pair of Q-Acoustics 3020s in another room, but I think I prefer the Monitor Audios. They all sound good, but the Monitors are a lot more compact, and they look discreet with the grilles on and more expensive with the grilles off.

I was looking at buying this same HiFi myself but the lack of USB socket put me off. Most of my music is now stored as MP3 and I have read Bluetooth is a lossless format and hence reduces the quality due to bandwidth.

I am currently looking for one of the previous versions of this HiFi on ebay (M40DAB and below) purely because I want the USB socket.

Say what now?

Both lose huge amounts of quality.

If you want high res audio, you need to find music in a high res format (amazon HD or tidal) and have a device that is compatible with that format (a streamer box)

or just play CDs which is what I do.

I doubt you'd notice the difference between playing 320k MP3 and a CD through a micro system

I am afraid I can't, but ears are getting on a bit.

But do tend to use FLAC just in case. laugh
