How big (or small) is your main TV

Bare in mind those of you still rocking flat screens with large bezels, & finding the screen too small, an extra 5 or 6 inches will hardly be any larger physically than what you already have, so feel free to go large with your upgrade!
This is definitely the case - I went from a 40inch late 2000s LCD to ‘modern’ 50” LED with no real difference in physical dimensions (was a little bit wider/taller, but also a lot slimmer)RSTurboPaul said:

She doesn't know I ordered the 55 rather than the 50 we spoke about. Will dispose of the box sharpish and seek forgiveness if needed
Just tell her that it won't seem so big once she's got used to it Telly is big, very big, but big is beautiful I can't believe how good 4k is. The difference between the old 37" @ 1080i is amazing. It's going to take some getting used to. The room size calculator said we could go up to 80" as it's viewed from 14 feet. Nuts.
Next I need to mount it on the wall and buy a new unit to hide all the cables. Looking forward to finally fixing all the surround speakers to the wall.
The good lady commented that she thought I was going to buy a bigger so wasn't surprised I bumped it up by 5 inches (ooh er) could have got away with 60..
75-inch Samsung QLED. We sit 4.2m away, so I know that sounds oversized but we both use it more for games than telly, and my wife was struggling to read menu and dialogue text in some games.
I design corporate and higher education AV for a living, so did a lot of sums before buying. And got the telly at a hilarious discount.

There's loads of 4K stuff on YouTube, even just relaxing videos of beaches and waves - some seems better quality than others, but it's still great to have the extra resolution
You need to find some space/astronomy stuff that demonstrates pinpoint single-pixel stars lol
My lounge is a fair size and the 85 doesn't actually look out of place at all. I was surprised myself, since they look huge in store. We had a 55 inch here for past 10 years, and I now moved that to another room to make way for the 85.
The sofa directly facing the TV is 4.5m from the screen, for context of room size.
