Soundbar advice please - Sonos vs Bose

Hi all,
Having finally left my trusty 42" Panny plasma behind for a 55" LG OLED I'm realising that although I think the picture is superb, the sound isn't, so I've decided on a (decent) soundbar, or at least one that seems decent!
Trouble is which one! I can man-maths the budget to an extent, but don't want to go wild as this is the first foray into these new fangled wotsits and have narrowed it to three choices. Room is a decent sized, but not capacious and not square. TV sits on a fairly large Atacama stand with 2 shelves - black smoked glass. Prices are Amazon, forgive me!
First, Sonos Arc - £748 - this would probably be on a standalone basis.
Second, Sonos Beam Gen 2, with a Sonos Sub Mini - total of £798
Third, Bose Smart 600, with a Bose Bass Module 500 - total of £798
I find it slightly amusing that both Sonos and Bose combos with Bass/Sub are priced identically
Anyone have any experience to share, recommendations or alternatives?
I would try and find somewhere to listen to both, but don't have anywhere particularly local, so thought the PH massive
was a good alternative
My opinion get the Sonos arc, and then the proper Sonos sub further down the line when budget allows Having finally left my trusty 42" Panny plasma behind for a 55" LG OLED I'm realising that although I think the picture is superb, the sound isn't, so I've decided on a (decent) soundbar, or at least one that seems decent!

From my limited listening I found the Sonos needed the sub as the bass was a bit lacking. I tend to watch big sound effect filled movies so want that bit of ooomph. Can't comment on the Bose options though.
I have listened to the Sony A7000 quite a bit and thought that gave a very good surround sound effect, probably the closest to a surround sound experience outside of a proper setup that I've come across.

Can I hijack this thread a bit and ask if you can have surround sound if your sofa is pushed right up agains the wall?
I didn't think so but then my colleague said about wall mounting but it just doesn't seem like it would work. It would either be just above your head on the left or right. Or way up high
I only ask as I'm getting a fully fitted media wall soon made by a carpenter. 77" oled and a soundbar. Was just planning ahead

It's not 'ideal' but it's still a huge improvement over stereo especially if you have Atmos up-firing speakers in the 'rears'.
