I wasnt after an appraisal, more a level of lighting.

But for 40"+ Plasma is still king.

The lights have two levels I believe....

"on" and "off"
I have no idea how to measure a 'level' - why is plasma king??

Generally so, Sir Matthias but as ever, one exception to prove the rule, JVC's stupendous LT-40DS7 lcd, especially if you are going for HD subscription. (Come to think of it, even regular component fed progressive signals from DVD looks mighty fine, too.)

The level of fine detail retrieval is astonishing and set next to plasma meistery like Pioneer's new 427 series, Panasonic's venerable Vierae and even my current favourite, the 42PD9700 Bond villain* from Hitachi, can comfortably sustain honour and save 'ee a few groats into the bargain.

DeR.

You're buying three? Most people either have a budget or a set of requirements.

£500 = Dawn who works the high street but gobbles like crazy
£1000 = Fiona, works the back alleys but is clean and shaven
£1500 = Emma, works in Mayfair and always swallows!

In which case, I'll take Dawn and Fiona for £1500 hehe

If you're not bothered about integral FreeView (you may have a seperate IDTV box, cable, Sky etc) the Toshiba 32 or 37WL66s are up for a serious pounding - drop me a line for considerable daftness in either regard.

hey De - that Hitachi 42" plasma - I think 2nd on your best sellers... does that have a HD input for the Xbox? - im a novice and i know it uses the 3 & 2 RCA plugs for a HD signal rather than HDMI...
