There is now a way to watch ITV HD on a SKY+ HD box. Unfortunately this will only work on the new HD EPG software but this is currently being rolled out. Details below:

To do this, go to the Add Channels menu and use the following settings:

11.427
H
2/3
27500

Channel 10510

I confirmed this worked today on my home box and get an ITV HD slate. Could be useful for people who like the Champions League.

I've followed the instructions and have 10510 on the new channels list. I then select 'store' and then follow the instructions to select. When I go into the HD channel list there is no sign of the channel. What am i doing wrong????

thanks

Yeah gotcha just found the relevant thread on digital spy. Alas we're on the original, I'm always last in the fecking queue frown

Is the new EPG software being rolled out to all box makes? I thought I read somewhere (possibly on avforums) that it was only Pace boxes that are getting the new EPG (I have a samsung).

All HD boxes will be getting it in batches. I have a Thompson and have it from the beta testing. Some boxes in work have been done.

You have to go into the other channel section in the services page. Unfortunately it doesn't appear in the main EPG and you don't get any now/next info either due to it being a "red button" stream rather than a dedicated channel.

Excellent, just set this up and it works. Thanks for the tips everyone. Now, I wonder if it's possible to rename it from 10510 to something more meaningful in the listing on other channels?

How will we know when we are to be upgraded? Will we have to wait until the letter comes through first and then sometime after that or can you force the update?

Trust me you will know! The entire user interface changes from the old Sky blue and yellow spreadsheet to an interactive screen with the picture running at the top whilst you're browsing channels... smile

You just get it. At the moment there is a guide about it on Anytime. The boxes are getting done by model number and even we don't know what models and time.

Do you have to have to have your sky box plugged into the telephone socket to get the download/upgrade?

I realise that! Seen the article in Sky magazine and the 8 minute demo on Sky Anytime, it's just they both say you will receive a 'manual' in the post - I was assuming you need to get this first before they upgrade you?

I tried doing a forced update the other day and didn't get the new EPG, it just went from rev j to k of the old one.

No you don't. It is all done via sat. The firmware is played out and then the box will recieve a message telling it to switch.

Forced upgrades won't work if the firmware is not being played out for your box.
