How will we know when we are to be upgraded? Will we have to wait until the letter comes through first and then sometime after that or can you force the update?
You just get it. At the moment there is a guide about it on Anytime. The boxes are getting done by model number and even we don't know what models and time.
Do you have to have to have your sky box plugged into the telephone socket to get the download/upgrade?
Obviously...

Mind you I was hoping it might cure the endless problems I have had with Sky's HD boxes but sadly I switched on the TV tonight and I was getting a staccato image on BBC1 SD eek Last night it wouldn't record an HD channel whilst watching another SD channel. Usual cure is to re-boot the box by switching it off at the mains and bringing it back up again but it's a pile of poo if you go away for the weekend and come back to find none of the recordings have occurred because the Box has decided to play up again. It's fine for Sky to be upgrading software but they really should apply their minds to improving the quality of the boxes they supply instead of forcing the price down to a level so that Pace & Thompson etc. supply rubbish... rolleyes

We just got a replacement box without asking because of a known problem with the Pace boxes.

like all new things the epg will annoy you, then you get used to it, then you start to like it, then forget all about the other one that now seems incredibly dated in comparison.

Sky HD has been fitted today with an Amstrad box, i was expecting it to be fully up to date. But i have just tried to add this channel (so i don't have to put up with Andy Gray on wednesday night) but it doesn't seem to find this channel. I get 4-5 listed but not ITV frown Are the firmware updates often or completely random per household? Sorry if questions sound a little daft smile

You'll need the new EPG for this to work - have you got this or the old style original?

That's one thing i'm not sure about. Had the whole setup installed yesterday with a new amstrad box. Thought that the box would come fully up to date. Does this look like i'll have to wait for this before i can get ITV HD?

I have the new EPG and have successfully added ITV HD in "other channels". However, it's a right faff clicking through the menus to actually view it (and half the time there is nothing on, any way!).

Is there a way to assign it to a regular channel number?

I don't think so, but there is a quicker way. Each sub menu is assigned a different number, you can shortcut your way to the correct menu using the numbers on the handset rather than faffing with left and right. Can't remember the numbers off the top of my head though as I'm at work now.

More importantly and back on topic, does anyone know where you can see a programme guide for ITV HD as whenever I check there is nothing on. Is there ever a programme on?

Great!

I appear to be the only person with. "Y" cromazone in the entire UK who is not really into football.

Would be good for movies if they started doing that...

No you're not the only male non football fan (and a couple of my colleagues are the same too). I can't help with the Sky EPG, but if you want to look ahead to see what is on ITV HD I use this website:

http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/index.php/freesat-cha...

(I have a PC fitted with a satelite card, so I can watch or record BBC HD and ITV HD using it).

Cheers for that - just added it to my set. Shame it's not 'fully integrated' but good that it's availible if there's something I see on ITV which I'd like to see in HD then I have the (unfortunately long winded) option.

Can you let us all know how you can find out what the sub-menu numbers are on the new emnu sustem HR as its not obvious from looking at the screen etc...

I watch the ITV1 HD football broadcasts on my Sky HD box and have to agree its a pain getting to the channel each time.
