A great demo of a system is to have a cup of water on a table when the T-Rex turns up in Jurassic Park, watch it shake just like the one on screen biggrin

tried it many times with progressivly bigger and bigger subs ending up with a
REL Studio3 which is capable of dropping to 12hz eek and it doesnt happen.

Spielberg got the effect by having a spare dashboard assembly put in a wooden frame and
immediatly under the glass he had a tightly strung guitar string about 3 ft long
which was then plucked resulting in the famous effect.

+1

In reality the waves produced would be so low in frequency that they would not be produced in a cup, you would need a swimming pool.

A DVD I revisited last weekend; "House Of Flying Daggers".

The, er, "bean-flicking" scene is a masterpiece of immersive audio.
