Yes, the 42V10.
I like the look of the 42V10, and I like the fact that it's got more "stuff" than the G10/G15, but we're about 10' away from the screen and from reading back on here and elsewhere that puts us closer to "needing" a 50" rather than a 42".It's a living room with a TV in it as opposed to a TV room, so I worry that a 50" would dominate it too much. Last time I bought a TV (CRT) it was a toss-up between a 32" and a 37" - I went for a 32" and regretted it from about a week later, so I don't want to do the same again.
Saw a V10 last week sat near to a G10 last week in DeRs emporium (I'm in the market myself).
OK, so it was a World Athletics BBC HD feed rather than your best film, but the V10 was better. Can't put my finger on why, skin tones maybe, but definitely worth the few bob extra.
Just my opinion.

I was after one of these and went to buy one today but the sales guy was pushing the LG 42PQ6000 and the picture did look better than the Panasonic. Is the LG any good?
Cheers

If YOU think it's better then that's all that matters. Just to note though that the LG may have set on some vivid showroom setting which looks 'better' under the fluorescent showroom lighting. If your living room is lit in the same way, it might also look 'better', but I'm guessing not, so you may well find the Panasonic looks much better in the more restrained setting of a 'typical' living room. All IMHO of course, plus the salesman may have had some reason to push the LG over the Panasonic that might not be based on which is better for YOU. Sometimes seeing an overly bright/over saturated coloured picture even next to a fully calibrated one can appear 'better', but longer term use might become wearing (too harsh/'cartoon like colours').

Jamie,
The 42V10 at that distance would represent the delivery of empirically weavable, visual wonder.
If you affix a Blu-ray source, plonk in the default THX parametric settings and wind the 'sharpness' back to sod all, it is truly the pater of panels flat.
So glad I opted for the V10. It looks better, is slimmer, but best of all for someone that isn't nerd enough to want to get someone in to calibrate (and thereby nullify the warranty) it has the THX setting. The 42V10 at that distance would represent the delivery of empirically weavable, visual wonder.

All I had to do was set it to THX and wind back the sharpness. Impressive even fed an upscaled SD picture from our Sony HXD
