What would you choose with a Denon 1909:

New:

Wharfedale 5.0 package:

9.4 front
9.0 back
9.cs center

for about £330

or

Secondhand:

Kef 5.1 package:

Q35.2 front
Q15.2 back
Q95C centre
30B sub

for about £320 with stands?

Don't know what to do at the moment, I have neighbours and a room below me so I'm not 100% sure I should get a sub or not...

You really need to try them both out, and decide what's best for you. How old are the old kef's?

In my brief experience both both speakers, I found the kef's to be beefer. Both very good speakers though.

As for the sub. I went for one, as it suits my taste, but you might not think its necessary. You could always add one later if you end up buying the wharfdales - that would increase the cost significantly though.

Markus.

Not sure how old the KEF's are, I think they're a 9 year old design though.

As long as the Kefs are in good nick, then go for them miles better sound than the Wharfdales
and you're getting a sub for your money as well

Will they overpower my room though? It's not massive by any means, (I would guess about 5 metres by 4 metres!)

KEF's are 5 years old smile
