Cancelling Sky?

I purchased shy+ HD 3 weeks ago, and the other day, we got an email round work saying new customers were eligible for staff discount (which is a pretty significnat saving).

Im still within the 30 day cancellation / cooling off period, so shouldnt incur any cancel charges or tied into the 12 month contract yet.

My question is, would i be seen as a new customer when i go to sign up with the staff discount?
Also, what happens to the box? I have a communal dish, so thats just going to stay anyway.

Ive tried phoning sky, but getting an answer out of the foreign call centre workers is impossible.

Best to check you T&Cs aboot cancelling. There might be a clause aboot returning within some time period to take advantage of certain offers etc.
Also, if you try and cancel they may try and sweeten the deal for you to stay?

They won't let you renew from the same name and bank account.

So if you live with somebody, once you have cancelled get them to call up and use their name and bank account.

Just make sure you ask the right questions in case they have changed.

When I had a row with them last time this is what we did, I let my lodger pay for it, and I paid him back. Worked a charm smile
