There are certainly enough comments about them on hi-fi forums, but quite often from Ash himself or people who appear to be rather close to him. And the inability to demo them does put me off somewhat.
They seem to get pretty decent reviews from the pro-audio side too, so I guess they must be half decent.

I think you might be able to demo them if you are near their location (which I think is somewhere in Gloucestershire).

Meridian have been doing Speakers with Digital inputs for years. As for MP3 sound "quality" I find it does not have any. It loses much more than "bits". However if you thinks that's bad there's always DAB!!

I have full 5.1 digital Meridian with 24 / 96 DVD-A. I can tell the ipod verses the proper stuff!

This thread has prompted me to bring my old amp back down from the loft and hook it up. I've had my CD player routed through my AV amp for ages as I wanted to reduce the amount of kit on my rack. Didn't think it sounded that much different, but with my old set-up back in place and nicely warmed up it certainly sounds a whole lot better. ears

I have the "old" Meridian 200 Transport feeding a Chord DAC64 with a Technics DVD-A10 for DVD-A duty. I also have a Denon DVD-2900 which I'm hoping to have a Audiopraise Vanity Digital Output fitted to. DVD-A, SACD and Upsampled CD in the same unit.
