new blu ray player...connection question

got myself a new blu ray player yesterday

hooked it up with the hdmi lead , the tv has a choice of 2x sockets..

anyway quick questiion ...when i turn off the player to go back to watching tv , should it change back automaticly ? becuase it doesnt , old scart connected stuff did so im thinking this new stuff should too?

any ideas?

In an ideal world then yes, but tbh certain combinations of players and TV's give to the problem you have now.
