PS3 DivX / Strange HDTV problem

Prologue
I have a Toshiba 32" Regza (XV505D) 1080p LCD screen which I have been using without problem for about 16 months for my PS3/BluRay/PC output. My PS3 hung yesterday evening at the loadscreen of Bad Company which required a hard reset - upon rebooting I I had sound but no pitcure (connecting via HDMI). I swapped all HDMI connections around, and used 2 spare HDMI cables to eliminate them as the problem. Did Master reset of the TV and then used the components to get back to standard def -> set for HDMI, Auto (which picked up all of the proper resolutions). Restarted via HDMI all worked perfectly at 720p and 1080p - no idea what any of that was about.
Problem
Playing DivX movies, as soon as the "DivX" logo has disappeared from the bottom-right, a very dark (but slightly transparent) line about 3cm thick on the far right hand side of the screen appears. If I zoom the image on the PS3 or TV, it disappears - so doubt it is a physical/pixel problem with the TV. The dark bar disappears when speeding forwards/backwards/slomo, but at normal speed it is there and constant. It is not visible on any BluRay, DVD or game that I have tried, or any non-DivX files. I have swapped HDMI connections and cables and all with the same result, even trying 2 new HDMI leads that I had lying about the place.
I thought that the file itself was naffed and that it must have been on the original "copy" if you will - it most definitely is not, on any of the DivX's I checked.

PS3 via HDMI hung @ 720p, hard restart = no picture, only sound. Checked connections and used SCART to get into standard def and reset display settings to HDMI. Restart and all perfectly fine. Play DivX and get a 3cm very dark band on the far right hand side of the screen, dark enough to appear black when the background material is also dark. Screen/PS3 both work perfectly other than this. To the best of my knowledge the same was not happening before the hang/inital problem.
Ideas please gents? Minor problem but so very annoying!

Odd one this. Reported result in case anyone else suffers the same.
Turning off Mosquito Noise Reduction on the PS3 from the AV Settings (during playback) removes the dark band. Default level is 2, max level is 3, off = 0
Only DivX gives this problem.
Once changed, the settings are saved (global for the PS3, not per user etc.)
