Dear Hi-PHi Gurus,

I am considering this unit for a bedroom, has anybody has any experience of it?
Also, do you think the below is a good deal?

Any help of advice is much appreciated!

Not heard that exact system, but it's predeccessors have consistently been amongst the finest of their type for the last decade or so. I can't see why this one woudl be any different.

I used to have a DM30 as a little everday system in one room and it never failed to impress me with it's musicality and control - and that's coming from someone who's main system is grossly expensive in comparison.

It could be partnered with all manner of speakers and still shine - even ones which were 10x the price of the unit itself.

I love mine, it's hooked up to a ( paperbag ) Bose Acoustimass 5 system due to space reasons but it sounds great, very happy with it.

I also have one of the Denon predecessor's in the bedroom system, it has worked well for many years, and sounds pretty good. For the price, I don't think there is much better, but you could also look at Cambridge Audio One, and Onkyo models.

I still have a DM30 in my study now.
It must be 10 yrs old, but still sounds great.

I've had the original DM-7 for about 14 years and had a DM-37 until recently (non-DAB). Both really excellent systems, punch well above their weight and size.
Just consider 'proper' speakers for them. I'd recommend either the tannoy Mercury custom F1's or the Wharfdale Diamond 9.1's. I own both sets of speakers and they sound ace with the denons. Wharfdale's are laid back, F1's a bit more pacey and forwards. Both wipe the floor with the bundled speakers, it just depends what you prefer. Pay no more than £100 for either.

That's a cracking deal.
Enjoy!
Just a note - you might find you need speaker stands for the 9.1's, and be aware that they've very "deep" - the speaker terminals stick out the back so they don't go against walls very well.
